Do you sometimes feel a sense of grey despair at the thought of another family of person being impacted by DV and you don't know what to do? Well, there is a simple solution and inexpensive one - you can help us to strengthen the individuals who choose to make a difference and step into the awful world of DV as true super heroes. It is simple and direct - we're building up the front line with praise to be the generational change in DV. Our Hunt for Hero Awards are unique in that they identify people in the Australian community who are using their personal energy to make a difference and selflessly help others. Unlike other awards, this is a peer-to-peer system that allows people to nominate people, not organisations, and help to shine a light on the person. Over the past 4 years we have met simply amazing people who will humble you with their story and effort. Our job as a charity is to provide some humble prizes to the person (nothing fancy but so they don't go without at Christmas), facilitate an awards ceremony and produce a space to celebrate the strength as we make the social change against DV. Everyone needs praise and these folks are often the unsung heroes of our society. So don't despair! Next time you and your mates are filled with despair at what to do, instead drop $5 in the awards jar and help us to highlight what good humans are doing. We want these front-line warriors of all shapes and sizes to be the headline, not the incidents. Here's the link - drop us a fiver and know you are helping to make a difference today. https://lnkd.in/gegZzPdz

You worked hard all your life and, combined with a bit of luck, have created an amazing living legacy. However, when you pass, a large chunk of that legacy might be given to the government rather than to your heirs or the causes you care about due to what we at ASE Private Wealth? call the Social Capital Tax?. Fortunately, we are living in the ideal time to engage in proactive planning that may allow you to convert that living legacy into a lasting legacy, allowing more of your hard earned success to flow to your family and to the charities you champion. Follow along the next few weeks as we take a brief historical trip, get the current lay of the land, and then discuss ways that you can help ensure you can successfully leave the legacy you choose.

What does it mean to “do good”? ? I’ll give you two situations featuring two people, each worth one billion dollars: ? 1)???Person A donates one half of their worth to various charities, and does so very publicly.?They’re not obnoxious about it, but they do insist on having their name on things like buildings and scholarships.?Their foundation is the “Person A Foundation”. 2)???Person B donates one quarter of their worth to those same various charities, but does so anonymously.?Nobody knows where these big checks are coming from, but they are differences makers to these worthy organizations.?There is no foundation, there are no named wings of hospitals – everything is completely anonymous. ? How do you feel about these two people??Is Person B more altruistic because they’re not seeking anything (like notoriety or goodwill) for themselves??Or is Person A more altruistic because they’re giving up more of their wealth? ? Philosophers have debated this.?Not surprisingly, like any good philosophical debate, no clear answer has emerged.?People have basically written that no human can ever be truly selfless – because if you do some selfless act and you feel good because of it, that’s not actually selfless because you benefitted.? ? To be honest… I feel that view is really… depressing.?You’re either ungiving and authentic or you’re giving and a fraud.?Isn’t there some daylight in the middle? ? I like to think that if you’re doing good and get something good yourself (whether it’s the pride of your name on a building, a tax write-off or just a warm fuzzy feeling), then great!?Everyone wins! How do you feel?

Progress Report. 18 miles into the 62 miles for Campaign Against Living Miserably March Fundraiser Completed 4 miles tonight. To put that into perspective, it takes me roughly 40 minutes to run that. (I’m not a runner.) ????♂??? In that 40 minutes, CALM would have answered 4 phone calls to people struggling. But only if fundraisers contribute £8 per call. Don’t view it as sponsoring me, view it as helping someone save another by picking up that phone. Link below if you want to help me get to my target of contributing to 25 phone calls. In case you’re thinking this isn’t for LinkedIn. I’ve spent my years building a professional network of (charitable) great people instead of a personal one. So for me, it does. #campaignagainstlivingmiserably #CALM #itsoknottobeok #mentalhealthawareness #suicideprevention

It's disheartening to see some individuals chase clout through charity activities, using optics to deceive benefactors. They present themselves as champions for the less fortunate, while in reality, they exploit these situations for personal gain. True charity comes from a place of genuine empathy and a desire to make a difference, not from seeking validation or applause. When charity is used as a tool for self-promotion, it loses its essence and fails to uplift those it claims to help. Let's commit to authenticity in our acts of kindness. Genuine impact is created when we put others' needs above our own desire for recognition. The world needs more selfless acts, driven by compassion rather than the pursuit of personal glory. Remember, real change happens when we give without expecting anything in return. Let’s strive to be true agents of positive change, driven by sincerity and a genuine desire to uplift others. #TrueCharity #AuthenticKindness #Compassion #SelflessActs #PositiveChange #ImpactfulGiving #Empathy #GenuineImpact #CommunitySupport #ReflectiveThoughts #Motivation #CharityWithIntegrity #BeTheChange #SelflessService #CharityNotClout VC: Copyright to the respective video owner

Why I'm investing in our local community. It's simple really: Success without succession is failure. Here's what I've learned: ? Local impact creates lasting change ? Inspiring youth shapes the future ? Small actions compound over time Last year: Young adults I mentored years ago are now starting their own businesses. That's the real ROI. The ripple effect: 1. Support one person 2. They lift up another 3. Community grows stronger This isn't charity. It's legacy building. It’s multi-generational contribution. Want to make a difference? Join me at CBI Boca: [ https://lnkd.in/euDqpxSX ] What impact will you create today? #CommunityImpact #Legacy #GiveBack

We know the cost of living crisis is hard, but the situation is becoming increasingly difficult for young people for many reasons. We have seen a 48% increase in referrals for our support. There has been a 38% increase in the need for safeguarding interventions. The average individual support session has increased from 3.5 hours per week to 5.5 hours per week, reflecting a greater complexity of concerns. But young people don't need facts and figures, they need support. They need a warm welcome into a warm space with a warm meal waiting for them. That's what we do. Regardless of how tough it is for charities like ours, the support never changes. We will always treat each individual young person that walks through our door like they matter - because they do and they deserve to know that. We need support more than ever, so if you can support us in any way, please know it goes a long, long way. From a loaf of bread and a new pair of school shoes to a year's worth of 1-1 mentoring and a new washing machine for a family, every single bit of support is appreciated. Thanks everyone, team Motiv8 ?? #lifechancesforyoungpeople #youthcharity #youngpeople

? Accountability… with a Twist! ? “You don’t rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” – James Clear, Atomic Habits ?? A month ago, my friends and I started an accountability group to keep ourselves on track. But here’s the twist: if you miss a check-in, you have to donate half to charity, and the other half? We "chop the money" and share it amongst ourselves! ?? Let me tell you, the thought of someone else chopping your money is very motivating! Suddenly, showing up became a lot easier. ?? And if someone forgets to show up? Well, we quickly learn that “bad habits repeat themselves again and again, not because you don’t want to change, but because you have the wrong system.” ?? And our charity donations and chopping money makes us stay motivated! This has helped me stay consistent. It has brought me out of my shell and helped me discover talents I didn’t even know I had. ?? To anyone struggling with consistency, remember: “Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.” Start small and stay consistent. You’ve got this! #TechJourney #PersonalGrowth #Accountability #AtomicHabits #ChopYourMoney #StayMotivated #GrowthMindset #Consistency #HabitsForSuccess #GoalSetting #SmallWins #Motivation

I'm gonna change the world. A lot of us set up on our own so that we can make a difference. For some it's just to change our own lives or the lives of our children. For others, there's a larger mission. A huge, all consuming purpose to make the world a better place. Sometimes it feels like you should have a massive, noble passion that drives you. It feels like you should be in everyone's faces, with strong morals and values that drive every decision you make. But we can all make a difference. A million small good deeds can add up over time. This is one of the reasons why I love working with small charities and businesses who do things differently. Because despite all the large scale change that we need to see in the world, we also need to remember that small things add up too. Taking a child away from their caring responsibilities for a few hours. Making sure that medication and therapy is accessible, when the NHS falls short. Giving a voice and an identity to people whose history and culture isn't reflected in the world we live in. Listening to grieving families to make sure they can capture the essence of the loved ones they've lost. I might not be changing the world with what I do. But I'm making it easier for those who are. And that's alright with me. Who do you know that's changing the world? #Wellbalanced #NumberGeek #Unicorns

Are You Doing Your Part? We all have a part in this world. A unique role in filling gaps where there is need. Our part might seem small, but even the smallest effort contributes to something far greater than ourselves. Whether it’s supporting a struggling family, giving time to a cause, donating, or simply being present for someone in need, our actions ripple beyond what we can see. There is a universal law that relates to this: the Law of Cause and Effect. Every action we take, no matter how minor, creates an effect in the world. This law shows us that everything is connected, and nothing happens on its own. Our efforts, when joined with those of others, create waves of change. Just like a pebble tossed into water creates ripples that extend outward, your acts of kindness, compassion, and service extend far beyond your immediate reach. It’s like building a wall, each brick is someone’s effort. One brick on its own doesn’t look like much, but when you stack them together, you build something strong. When everyone does their part, it creates something solid and lasting. So, are you doing your part? In a world that often feels overwhelming, chaotic, and divided, it's easy to think our individual contributions don’t matter. But they do. Every small action counts. Every gap you fill, every person you help, every time you step up—you’re creating a better world. The world is waiting for your part. Will you answer the call? Remember: one small step from you can ignite change for generations. Let’s not wait for someone else to act. Be the difference. Do your part. The world is counting on it. https://lnkd.in/gRGzG3wd #BeTheDifference #TheRobbKellyFoundation
