On Monday and Tuesday, our teachers participated in Professional Development Days. We were pleased to welcome Olivier de Lavalette?back?for a Mindfulness Workshop, where our teachers gained insights into mindfulness practices. They can now bring these practices into the classroom to support student well-being. Additionally, other sessions focused on pedagogy were held, providing teachers with tools and strategies to enhance the learning experience for our students! Our teachers also discovered the new High School location.

??Integrated curriculum + mindfulness practice = VICTORY! ??By connecting subjects & teaching students to be present, we nurture creativity, critical thinking, and emotional resilience. ??Our programs can be easily integrated into core academic subjects. They can also be used in morning meetings, after recess, in small group work, or after a drill. It’s about creating space for focus & awareness whenever we can. Let’s build well-rounded learners, inside and out!

??? As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day, let's also shine a light on an equally crucial aspect: teacher self-care and mental health. ???? Teaching is not just a profession; it's a calling that demands immense dedication, compassion, and resilience. But too often, the demands of the job can take a toll on our well-being. On this occasion, let's prioritize awareness around the importance of self-care for educators. Teaching isn't just about imparting knowledge; it's about nurturing minds and shaping futures. And just as we invest in our students' growth, we must also invest in our own well-being. Here are a few reminders for my fellow educators: 1?? Self-care isn't selfish: It's essential. Remember to carve out time for yourself amidst the hustle and bustle of the academic year. Whether it's reading a book, taking a walk, or simply resting, prioritize activities that recharge your batteries. 2?? Seek support: You're not alone. Reach out to colleagues, mentors, or support groups if you're feeling overwhelmed. Sharing your struggles can lighten the burden and help you find solutions. 3?? Set boundaries: It's okay to say no sometimes. Learn to prioritize tasks and delegate when necessary. Establishing boundaries is key to maintaining a healthy work-life balance. 4?? Practice mindfulness: Incorporate mindfulness techniques into your daily routine to reduce stress and stay present in the moment. Whether it's meditation, deep breathing, or simply being aware of your thoughts, mindfulness can help you stay grounded. 5?? Celebrate small victories: Teaching can be challenging, but it's also incredibly rewarding. Take time to celebrate your achievements, no matter how small. Recognize the impact you're making on your students' lives. Let's use this Teacher Appreciation Day as a reminder to prioritize our well-being so that we can continue to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of leaders. Together, let's create a culture of support and compassion within the education community. #TeacherAppreciationDay #SelfCare #MentalHealthAwareness #Education #Teachers #WellBeing

Do you want to experience rejuvenation and lighten your mental load as an educator? I deeply appreciate the amount of professional development offered to me and consider myself a life long learner. Yet most PD feels like “one more thing” added to my plate which, realistically, I may not have the time for. Yet there are some professional development opportunities that don’t add to my load. They make my work lighter, easier, and filled with greater passion and drive. That’s why I am proud to be sharing The Enlightened Educator Project. We are building an intentional global community of educators who are dedicated to inner growth and development. We believe that in order to serve our students, we must examine our inner beliefs about teaching and learning and accept ourselves as whole people. This is not easy work, yet it makes everything else about teaching feel lighter. Become a founding member before our official launch on May 25th! https://lnkd.in/ezSrsGuQ

Craving time to slow down? Join us this Wednesday at 7:30 PM ET for our next WYLD Gathering where we will be talking about love and the power of story to shape our experience. Get all the details and to sign up here: https://lnkd.in/e96Dzjv5 Still curious about what a WYLD Gathering entails? Gatherings are 50-minute virtual sessions that blend soulful wisdom and science-based teaching where we bring our favorite tools from coaching and development workshops to you. We start with data-backed research from global thought leaders because, in the age of information, we know how important it is to share ideas from sources you can trust. And we know that learning information is valuable, but applying it to your life is transformational. This is why the second half of every session is part guided meditation and part self-reflection through journaling. And the best part.. you're not on camera! So come cozy and really soak it in. We can’t wait to see you there. You are more loved than you know.

Five key elements that make up the PYP/IB Primary Years Programme are attitudes, knowledge, concepts, skills, and action. Attitudes are focused on international mindfulness and well-being, while knowledge is disciplinary. Concepts are inquiry-based, and skills have a lifelong focus. The action is a result of inquiry. These five elements work together to create a comprehensive learning experience for students. By focusing on mindfulness, disciplinary knowledge, inquiry-based concepts, lifelong skills, and action, students are able to develop a well-rounded understanding of the world around them. If you're interested in learning more about the PYP/IB Primary Years Programme, be sure to check out these five key elements and see how they can benefit your students.

Back in January our South Australian instructional team spent time brainstorming what success looks like for them as instructors. We found the ideas fell under 5 main categories and reinforced just how dedicated our staff are. Success looks like... ?? Student Participation: Students who were hesitant to begin with or weren't sure that dancing is for them, end up loving the lessons and joining in on the fun! ?? Feedback: Positive feedback received from staff and students both in person and sent to us at head office. We loving hearing what the students are responding to and anything else we can be doing to help them achieve even more! ??Student relationships: The instructor is a mini school celebrity! Students are excited to say hello as we walk through the school yard or skipping into class eager to tell us things! ?? Instructor satisfaction: We know instructors succeed more when they are confident, eager to improve and proud of the lessons they're providing. We're so lucky that our staff value their improvement as much as we do! ?? Overall Happiness: Happy Students, happy teachers, happy schools, happy instructors, happy Footsteps! It's a win, win!!
