Don't get tripped up on the 'sky-is-falling' headlines that often pop up about withering demand for electric vehicles... We are in a massive, unprecedented industrial transition: it won't happen overnight, it won't be linear, it won't be failure nor error free. But going backward is simply not an option. It seems to me our reflexive instinct to hinder or downplay progress (as so often voiced in the media) is little more than an instinctual desire to remain comfortable in the status quo. We're going to have to push past that, individually and collectively. "But there's a lag between the lightning and the thunder, right?" asks Chris Hayes (the thunder being the spin-up of a carbon free economy). Well, Chris, that lightning has been flashing for many decades now. How much longer are we supposed to drag our feet before we get zapped? Upon completion, their BAM-2 factory will be the world’s largest factory for advanced silicon battery materials, strengthening our domestic supply chain and cutting reliance on imported materials like graphite – all while creating hundreds of new jobs in WA. In the 1980s thur 1990s, America’s manufacturing base was shut down or shipped to China and all those Union jobs were lost. Today, many of those consumer products have become obsolete or being phased out by newer technology and their manufacturing process and equipment worthless. The new American manufacturing economy is being restored by clean renewable energy products (solar, battery, EV, etc) and bringing back both manufactures and jobs to build it. In short, America ???? has a chance to reboot and move away from Chinese imports thanks to the IRA and the Green Economy?? No more Red Vs Blue states, we are all Green states… Make America Green Again!
