The sweltering heat poses significant risks, especially for those without stable housing or access to essential resources. This is where we can make a difference. Together, we can ensure that everyone has access to basic necessities that help them not just survive, but thrive. This isn’t just about providing items; it’s about sending a message of hope and solidarity to those who need it most. We urgently need summer items to support our clients through the hottest months. Simple items like t-shirts, shorts, and electrolyte packets can make a world of difference in someone’s day-to-day comfort and health. Hello LinkedIn Family! For the last seven months I have been volunteering at the Johnson Boys and Girls Club, one of 25 Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. Of the three Boys & Girls Clubs of America I have spent time at over the last 10 years, this club has the best programming I have seen. From a STEM room donated by the Denver Nuggets, to woodworking, to a Social-Emotional Learning group, this club has an incredible amount to offer. However, what I have noticed during my time is how??????? ?????????? ???? ?????? ????????????????'?? ?????? ???????? ?????????????? ???? ?????? ?????????????? ?????? ?????????????????????? ???? ?????? ???????? ???? ?????? ????????. The children at the Johnson club are predominately black and Latinx, with a bit of Middle Eastern and Asian as well. However, nearly every book I come across features white characters. I believe it is incredibly important for children to see they are represented in all aspects of life, including what they read.????? ???????? ?????????? ???????? ?????????????? ???? ?????? ???????? ?????? ?????????? ????????, ?? ???????? ?????????????????? ?? ???????? ?????????? ?????????????? ?? ???????????????? ???? ????????????. ?? ?????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ???? ???????????????? ?? ???????? ???? ???????????????? ?????? ??????????.I know this may sound crazy, but I believe with our network we can do it. If we are able to surpass this number, I will divide up the books between other Boys and Girls Clubs in the Denver area. ?????????? ?????? ???????????????? You will find books for ages 4-12 and young adult options as well. Most books will feature black and Latinx characters, but you will also find some Muslim and Asian characters. All books on the registry will default to being sent to my apartment and then I will bring them to the Boys and Girls Club in January 2024. Google is rolling out these links to the search results, pointing to the Internet Archive. It's Google's way of offering an alternative to their cached results after they removed the link to the cached results a few months ago. You can actually still see cached pages by adding "cache:" to the URL in your Chrome browser bar, but I have a feeling this will be disabled sometimes soon too. I love the Wayback Machine, and use it a ton, but it's often missing pages or is very out-of-date. I don't mean to say bad things about the Internet Archive though. They are a non-profit and they do a great service. But if Google fully removes the cache feature, I'm gonna be sad! This seems like good news for the Internet Archive, though. More visibility for the non-profit is nice. Hopefully they get enough donations to keep up with the increased traffic.

I was interested in joining the Cousera because I knew it was supported by Google.org, the philanthropic arm of Google. In other words, this program is trusted and recognized. This program is also an opportunity to improve my skills in the field of technology, so that I am not too tech-savvy. The program is also free, making it easy for me to participate and develop my work readiness. #coursera #google

According to Feeding America and the USDA, 13 million children experienced hunger in 2022. PV Power Packs supplies children in my local school district who are food insecure with weekend bags. These weekend bags include two breakfasts, two lunches, two snacks, and two fruits. They also have a few opportunities throughout the summer to supply students with food. August is my birthday month! To celebrate this happy occasion, I am partnering with PV Power Packs. I donate to this initiative not only because it is the right thing to do, but they helped my family when we were in a tight spot. Shortly after we bought our house and moved to the area, my husband was laid off. We were in this between space: did not make enough to make ends meet, yet made too much to qualify for certain aid programs. PV Power Packs helped make sure my child was fed when I wasn't sure where the next meal was coming from. Luckily, we no longer need their services, and I love giving back. Research local food initiatives and food pantries, and give to them. Because the best present for me is one less kid going to bed hungry.
