Allison Yamamoto (CPO, worked at LinkedIn and OscarHealth) lays out a step-by-step guide on how to conduct reference checks in a way that gets you valuable information, identifies red flags, and sets up the candidate for success: 1. Reference checks: Not just a box-ticking exercise, but a goldmine of insights (if you know how to dig) 2. Red flags in references? As rare as a unicorn riding a bicycle. Backchannel for the real dirt! 3. Opening question magic: "In what capacity did you work with this person?" - It's like a crystal ball for the rest of the call 4. Decoding reference responses: From "I barely knew them" to "They're my BFF!" - every answer tells a story 5. Friend references or 'sellers': Great for boosting your ego, not so great for unbiased feedback (who knew?) What else is there to do on random Sundays than open a few Pandora’s boxes [the ones that probably should’ve stayed shut—but hey, that’s just what we entrepreneurs and creatives do, right]? Yesterday turned into a bit of a spring clean (or my version of “getting ready for the new year”). I updated copy, put some of the new ideas and strategies that we've come up into place, cleaned up the backend SOPs, and added a big Asana list for the team to dive into this week. Then I stumbled across The Trusted Authority – The Podcast design and couldn’t help myself but getting my hands on it to develop a new template for the team. I ended up putting together some inspiration on what the 2025 creative direction could look like—tying it in with the updated designs I worked on for impaCCCt on Saturday as well as the *completely new and fresh* content direction which we have confirmed last week [and I think you'll love it!!] So now I’m curious… what do we think? Yay or nay? ?? PS- do you want to know and see more behind the scenes of our SOPs, planning, templates, and everything in between? Comment BTS and I shall get onto Loom! #Podcast #Branding #StrategyinAction #Podcast #Behindthescenes

Here’s the worst advice that I got in my podcasting journey- DONT’s FOCUS ON QUALITY. INSTEAD FOCUS ON QUANTITY WHILE STARTING OUT. I was fool to believe it and I don’t let that happen with anyone I help getting started with podcasting. Why post-production plays an important role? ? Here are Top 10 Reasons: 1. Enhances Audio and Video Quality: Removes noise, balances sound, and improves visuals for a professional listening and viewing experience. 2. Maintains Consistency: Ensures uniformity in volume and tone across episodes. 3. Engages Listeners: Adds music, effects, and transitions to keep the audience hooked. 4. Improves Clarity: Edits out filler words, pauses, and distractions for concise content. 5. Reflects Brand Identity: Integrates branding elements like intros, outros, and jingles. 6. Corrects Errors: Fixes mistakes or awkward moments in the recording. 7. Boosts Content Flow: Arranges segments for seamless storytelling. 8. Optimizes for Platforms: Adjusts file formats and sizes for diverse distribution channels. 9. Supports Accessibility: Adds captions or transcripts for inclusivity. 10. Increases Retention: A polished episode encourages listeners to return for more. Want to take care of your post production for YouTube Channel or Podcast Show? “I’m not sure what my audience wants to hear next.” Here’s a secret: Your audience already knows what they want. You just have to ask. Let me break it down: 1. If you’re not seeking feedback: ? You’re missing out on insights that can shape your podcast episodes. 2. If you’re relying on guesswork: ? You might spend hours creating content your audience doesn’t value. 3. If you’re ignoring analytics: ? Platforms like Spotify, YouTube, and Instagram offer data that shows exactly what’s resonating. Here’s what most creators don’t realize: ? Feedback builds loyalty. Listeners appreciate when their input shapes the content. ? Analytics are a goldmine. Retention rates, click-throughs, and likes reveal what works. ? It saves time. Knowing your audience’s preferences helps you focus on what matters. How do I know this works? I’ve helped creators: ? Use polls and surveys to gather actionable feedback. ? Analyze retention data to refine episode structures. ? Build stronger connections by responding to listener suggestions. Here’s how to get feedback: 1. Use polls on Instagram or LinkedIn to ask what topics your audience wants. 2. Create an email campaign inviting listeners to share ideas. 3. Review analytics weekly to spot trends. Your audience isn’t just consuming your content - they’re co-creators. How do you gather feedback from your podcast audience?

Ever feel like your stakeholders are your enemies? ?? I get it. Me too ?? It’s easy to see them that way. We often view them as the people standing in the way of our product’s or project’s success. We end up in endless conversations, trying to convince them to do things our way. But the truth is, we’re on the same team, aiming for the same goal. Yet, we tend to forget that. We start treating our stakeholders as enemies, as people who are against us, and that’s when things get messy. When you see someone as your enemy, you instinctively fight. It’s natural. But instead of gearing up for every meeting with stakeholders like it’s a battle, maybe try this: simply ask, “How can I help you?” or “What do you want to achieve?” whenever you get the chance. You’ll often find that you’re actually on the same team with shared objectives. So next time you’re preparing for war with the stakeholders, pause and ask how you can support them. You might be surprised at how quickly the dynamic shifts from conflict to collaboration. Wishing you a great weekend ?? —— And if you want to listen to the whole conversation with Kamil, here are the links: - Spotify: https://lnkd.in/dH6rmBJJ - Youtube: https://lnkd.in/dTHRg5Nr - Apple: https://lnkd.in/dWG-BDZk - Other: https://lnkd.in/duWfdxAR #productmanagement #productdevelopment #stakeholdermanagement #podcast #careerdevelopment

STOP THE PROMO SNOOZEFEST: How to Make People Actually Care About Your Guest Appearances + Contributions Alright, business fam, I’m just gonna say it. I’m seeing some killer visibility efforts and so many awesome messages being shared- podcasts, articles, speaking gigs – you name it. But then the captions sharing it with the world? Yawn city. "Check out my latest interview" doesn't exactly scream "must-listen." Truly, you’re asking folks to trade 10, 30, 60+ minutes of their super busy lives to see what you’ve been up to. Without telling them what they’re going to get out of it, without telling them why they should tune in, without so much as a single piece of value added. And no, adding, ‘I’m thrilled to share…’ with some jazz hands emoji doesn’t spice it up one iota. SNOOZE. Here's the deal: boring promotion just doesn't cut it these days. It’s YOUR job to make them want to click. How? Here's my "real talk" formula: Spill the tea: Don't just say you were on a podcast. Tease the most juicy takeaway you dropped. Flex that knowledge: Briefly highlight a unique problem you solve or a game-changing perspective you shared. (Always) Focus on THEM: Tell them what they'll get by listening/reading/watching. Focus on benefits, the results, the transformation- NOT just features. Let's take it for a (spiced up) test drive: Headlines suck? Want to learn how to write headlines that grab attention like a toddler with glitter? I just dropped some serious knowledge bombs on [Podcast Name]. If upping your engagement (like, through the roof) is on your to-do list this quarter, you're definitely going to want to tune in for this one! NOW share link. See the difference in where we started at the top vs. now? This version is catchy, clear, and promises real value. Visibility is about more than just showing up. Captivating content around your visibility is about making people want to see you in action. What say you? Can we PLEASE all agree to ditch the self-promotion snoozefest and create message magic that truly connects (and inspires action)?! Hit me with your best "real talk" tips in the comments! P.S. Yep, please feel free to steal this template for your next guest appearance post!
