You don’t have to choose between business and impact. Stephen Newland,'s career proves you can do both. Here are the highlights of our conversation ??

I am a first year CFO with a non-profit organization. The same challenges exist here as did in similar sized for-profit organizations throughout my career. As a matter of fact, there is an added layer of grants, reporting, and related oversight.

When I was an executive finance recruiter, one of the biggest misconceptions is that non-profit finance is easy because it is not focused on profit (per say...)...which is insane!

. I'm not sure why anyone would think finance as it pertains to a 401(c)(3) would be any different than that of a publicly traded company, Wassia and Stephen. As a matter of fact, I'd think it could potentially be harder due to the regs surround non-profits. #GuruRichard says: I dig this. Hope your week is going well. .
