China and Russia lead the hypersonic arms race with operational missiles and hypersonic glide vehicles capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear weapons. The U.S. is rapidly catching up with its adversaries and several hypersonic weapon tests are being carried out by the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force. The early procurement of the hypersonic weapon is even more important for the U.S. after North Korea claimed to have tested its own hypersonic missile. With the emerging threats in the region, Japan and South Korea have also paced their hypersonic research programs.

India is about to launch its second nuclear- powered submarine capable of firing ballistic missiles, the INS Arighat. This represents a major step forward for its sea-based defenses. Also, the government has given the go-ahead to build six more nuclear submarines. This decision will make India's navy even stronger. These actions improve India's ability to deter threats and boost its naval power in the Indo-Pacific area. Until recently, neither China’s submarines – nor its anti-submarine warfare (ASW) systems – appeared especially capable. But mindful of the threat posed by American submarines, the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) is beefing up its sub-killing systems. #submarine #navalsystems #navy #naval #china #russia #warfare #geopolitical #dod #taiwan #japan #australia

Assuming we are currently at DEFCON 3, are we now headed to DEFCON 2? The U.S. elevated the Strategic Air Command to DEFCON 2 during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. It was the highest DEFCON level reached so far by the U.S. military. DEFCON 1 refers to maximum military readiness — it is thought that?forces with a DEFCON level of 1 are kept ready for immediate action at all times. DEFCON 1 is reserved for the absolute most dangerous, severe situations, including imminent or ongoing nuclear war involving the US or one of its allies.

I honestly wonder why the #DepartmentofDefense especially the #Navy doesn't have a pipeline with Trade Schools. There is no difference in my view if you are paying for an officers training at the Naval Academy, Nuclear, or Special Warfare Pipelines to paying the tuition of #Tradesmen and then becoming GS personnel. The sheer amount we rely on GS's already makes sense when its jobs that should not have high turnover. However, as we keep learning with every new inked contract, that company contracted turned over most of its contracted personnel from the las equivalent contract they did to increase profit margin.
