Need some career inspiration? One of the biggest themes I hear from career changers is the importance of fulfilling work and the desire to make a difference. I love this brilliant example from an artist and writer—who met in an Ad agency—partnering to bring an important social message to people in a fun, tangible way. This is the textbook example of someone who is very articulate, has the perfect resume & yet - is precisely a huge part of the problem here in America in 2024. Utterly nonsense and propaganda is all that she offers. She does it intelligently, so many follow her like sheep. Here's a few ideas - 1. How about hiring some conservatives, Christians, Veterans, law enforcement, hunters & fisherman on the team there at NPR??? Your newsroom has a ratio of 87 Democrats and ZERO Republicans. When she refers to BALANCE, is this balance?? 2. Stop referring to people you don't like as racists. This woman (who is Caucasian) states openly & proudly, that she HATES ALL WHITE PEOPLE! 3. Disagreeing with someone doesn't make you right. She talks about BALANCE and PRODUCTIVE FRICTION. Don't make me laugh ?????? Your entire employed staff ARE DEMOCRATS, SAUL ALINSKY LOVERS, COMMUNISTS, ISLAMIC JIHADISTS, BLM, ANTIFA, CCP, MARXISTS, WEATHER UNDERGROUND FANS, THOUSAND CURRENTS LOVERS - ALL CRIMINALS & TRAITORS THAT HATE AMERICA. NPR is ALL THE ABOVE. ZERO Republicans. ZERO!!!! How is that balance????? How does your definition of DEBATE work?? I don't get how there is any debate amongst an office full of people that all agree on pretty much everything, all the time. You say it "Actually brings people into the conversation??" SURE THING. LOL. ?????? She goes on to reveal her true motive - "You don't sit back when you disagree with someone because engaging gives you the chance to SHAPE the public record." UTTER NONSENSE!!!!! She says, "Through THAT PROCESS, words become s SHARPER, BETTER and MORE UNDERSTANDABLE. " HUH?????Smoothe orator like Obama right? This is brainwashing with propaganda at a high level. DO NOT BE A SUCKER!!!!! 4. "Not woke enough"???? Seriously, you're muse here is Hillary Clinton (a known pathological liar & guilty Benghazi traitor...and you want us all to what? Go WOKE??? 5. ...and ENOUGH with the Wikipedia crap. Everyone with a brain knows you're trying to rewrite history and what words mean or don't mean, plus what words this kook deems appropriate for Americans to use. What makes her an authority on words??? She decides what binary, non-binary, pronouns, $#@%!!! WHATEVER NONSENSE. JUST STOP FUNDING NPR. It is one of the most perilous moments in your professional life, one that can mean the difference between success and being branded. Someone goading you and those around you into talking politics, either in the workplace or at an outside event. Granted, there are times when an entire group is gathered for the purpose of discussing these very issues. However, as happened to me recently when someone tried to trick me into discussing politics, I recognized immediately what was happening, and invoked a simple personal rule. Let's get over the buzzwords and start calling things for what they are based on facts. People make the mistake of following the buzz but need to take the time to learn how to differentiate fact from opinion. It is an important skill to have in a post-truth society.

Being fair seems, in many cases, #difficult for people. Many people are #selfish and only want what is best for them. So, how can you reach an agreement of #fairness between two parties? One excellent example is in the simple cutting of a pie. The easy way to make sure both parties are #happy with the results is to have one person cut the pie and the other person gets to pick which piece they want. Simply Stated: “You cut the pie and I’ll pick the piece.” Back in the 1700’s, Noah Webster wrote a tale which was studied by nearly every American child for generations. It is a wonderful example on the matter of #fairness. Here is the tale: (I’ve taken the liberty to change a few words to make it easier to understand) A farmer came to a neighboring lawyer, expressing great concern about an accident, which he said, had just taken place. The farmer stated: “One of your oxen has been gored by a bull of mine and I would like to know how you would like me to compensate you for the damage my bull has caused.” “You are an #honest person,” replied the lawyer, “and I think it is not unreasonable for me to expect one of your oxen in return.” “That seems more than fair,” quoted the farmer. “Yes, to be sure, that seems fair.” But then the farmer stated: “I made a #mistake – it is your bull who has gored my ox.” “Indeed,” said the lawyer, “well that alters the case. I will have to enquire into this incident and if …” Fair just flew right out the window when the deed was reversed. The issue should have been resolved quickly with the lawyer stating, “Then it is I who owes you an ox.” I like to deal with fair people and if I don’t think I am being #treated #fairly, I will take my business somewhere else. One of the greatest forms of #advertising is “Word of Mouth.” One of the best ways to get people to recommend you is to be fair … treat them as you would like to be treated. What is so hard to understand about that? I think Brian Tracy said it best when he stated: “You will regret many things in life, but you will never #regret being too #kind or too #fair.” #SeekingExcellence #Leadership #Life #Friends

“Make yourself indispensable” is a dangerous myth because it’s putting the focus on what others want and need and has plenty of risks as outlined in this article, particularly for those from communities of difference. When it comes to work, start with yourself. Know who you are, know what you believe and feel grounded in your purpose. Disputes sow distractions and drain our energy. While we may not always see eye to eye, constantly disputing every difference in opinion breeds conflict. Instead, let's assess the significance of each disagreement and its potential impact. Let's reserve our opinions for more opportune moments and avoid sweating the small stuff. By directing our time and energy towards more meaningful causes and important aspects, we can make a greater impact.
