This year, IIT graduates are receiving salary packages below ?10 lakh as companies reduce their hiring efforts. Colleges are approaching a larger number of companies because firms that previously hired several students are now only hiring one or two. Many students are accepting jobs with a minimum salary of ?6 lakh per year but are actively seeking alternative employment opportunities. IIT and NIT graduates have no jobs...8K left jobless...BJP leadership...INDIA. ???????????????????????? Nearly 35 lakhs vacant positions available in the government sector which have been contracted... Never in the history of India we saw this happening, Have money to spend crores of money on elections, selling, buying voters and ministers but no process for placements. Open secret students from institutions are forced to pay 15k to 2 lakhs as additional fees for campus recruitments or consultancy services for jobs in final semester or year. 4-8 lakhs is the CTC for IIT graduates who were picked up directly from many MNC's at almost 4 times packages in the current situations. Not a political post... Knowledge Seeks Knowledge...

Even as the debate rages on about IIT students facing difficulties securing jobs on campus, about 81% of undergraduate students at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi have been hired by firms so far this year. The number is said to be lower than the median of the previous three years. So I sought the truth on my show #IndiaTonight on ET NOW, Times Network from Ramani Dathi, Chief Financial Officer at TeamLease Services Limited. I ask her about the hiring trends, and most importantly, if our IIT placements are in line with India’s projected economic growth #IIT #placements #campusrecruitment #hiring #hiringtrends #IITDelhi #jobs #ITjobs #startups #businessnews #etnow #teamlease #newsanchor #vikramoza

Recently, I came across news about an Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay student receiving an annual salary of INR 4-6 LPA, which left me quite surprised by such an entry-level figure. Additionally, it was noted that only 75% of the students secured placements. Curious ??, I reviewed the report on the institute's website. It turns out that the number of students accepting salaries in the INR 4-6 lakh range was very small—only 10 out of 2,414 registered students, which amounts to just 0.41%. This is true in any corporates whereby bottom 1% might be non-performers and will draw the least salary. When 1.3% of 12-14 Lakh (1.2-1.4 million) students are admitted to IITs they don't need to prove their academic capability anymore. They can just explore various avenues in IITs to discover their 'mojo' and excel in those areas. The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay has just around 450 seats in the open category, translating to 0.03% of Indian students getting admission for undergrad studies. Few interesting facts from the report and about IITs ?? Second highest placement ever in spite of challenging job scenarios ?? Record (highest) 364 number of companies offered jobs ?? Job offers greater than 1 CR = 22 ?? PPO = 258 ?? International Job offers = 78 ?? Increase of average salary to = INR 23.5 LPA (7.7%?? increase compared to last year) Some of the unplaced students prefered higher studies, self-employment, or entrepreneurship over the jobs offered to them. I am sure they will ultimately create lot more jobs for the country. :-) The report summary as attached. #iitb #placement #jobs #campus

The 2024 placement season at IIT-Bombay saw a mixed outcome. While the average salary package increased slightly to ?23.5 lakh, the placement rate dropped to 75%, down from 82% last year. Notably, the minimum salary package offered decreased significantly to ?4 lakh per annum, compared to ?6 lakh previously. Despite these challenges, the institute still saw a strong presence from 364 companies, resulting in 1,475 job offers being accepted. However, the decline in placement rates and minimum salaries highlights some underlying concerns, despite the overall increase in average pay. IIT Bombay could not give jobs to 25% of its graduates 38% of IITian across 23 campuses are unemployed. Most of the IIMs are struggling to get placements for their students. The story is more dire for other colleges and other streams in India. Several studies have indicated that only 1 in 4 MBAs, 1 in 5 engineers, and 1 in 10 graduates are employable. I can relate to this firsthand as we interview hundreds of candidates year-round for various fresher positions. Both educational institutions and, more importantly, the young graduating students must make a massive effort?to skill themselves so that they are employable. It is high time that higher educational institutions move away from irrelevant curriculums and learning methodologies that will not benefit the students. A paradigm shift is also needed in the mindset of young job seekers. Most of them want to have the top remunerations without exhibiting an intent to work hard, take ownership, and perform. #employmentcrisis #jobs #workethics #careers #highereducation #reality

50% students in newer IITs have not found jobs via campus placement yet. As per RTI, 50% students are unplaced in IIT Jammu as on date. 57% students are unplaced in IIT Palakkad. Median salary in IIT Jammu : 11 LPA (down 58% from 19 LPA in year 2022) Median salary in IIT Palakkad : 12 LPA (up 9% from 11 LPA in year 2022) Unplaced students are dealing with stress, anxiety and hopelessness staring at the bleak future prospects due to the poor job placement scenario. Earnest appeal to various stakeholders: To, Parents: Please provide "emotional support" to your child who might not be placed yet or might have not received very high package. Please back them up emotionally. To, Alumni: Please provide career related guidance to the jobseekers. Best would be if you could give referrals. Your help will be most appreciated. To, IITs: Please allow the unplaced students to sit in the next placement season. They deserve a second chance. Hopefully hiring scenario will improve by then. Also, please leverage alumni base to get work opportunities for the unplaced students. To, Students: Please try to accept a job offer as getting employed is more important in a down market than maximising CTC which is done in up market. Improve CV, skills levels, learn to do networking and seek job stability over high CTC initially. First gain experience and visibility in job. Value will come later. Don't chase savings in first job in a down market. Market changes with time. Down market this year can change into Up market later. Make "good" decisions as per market cycles. Hon.
