Question: How does genetic testing save lives? Answer: If you know you have a mutation like BRCA1 which increases the risk of pancreatic cancer, you can follow with a medical oncologist at a cancer specific screening clinic who will order CTs or MRIs to monitor you. If you do develop a cancer, it can be caught and treated early. So important for my folks in New Mexico where we have more mutations.
