Our team had an incredible time at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new 200,000-square-foot Whitmer Middle School at Washington Local Schools. We're thrilled to watch the design come to life and look forward to seeing students walk through the doors for the start of school in the fall of 2026!

President and Chief Executive Officer, and Board Member, Education Forward Arizona. Helping students succeed; increasing postsecondary attainment to ensure a brighter future for Arizona
Across #Arizona —and really, across the country—there is a growing conversation about the value of college…Is it worth it? Who should go to college? Who really benefits from a college education? ? There is a lot of chatter suggesting that maybe education and training after high school isn’t worth it, or that the public doesn’t see the value of that for everybody. Yesterday we hosted this Morning Scoop with the Arizona Capitol Times to respond with strong evidence that Arizona voters do see value in education and training beyond high school. And, #voters want the state's Policy, Legislative, Education, and Business leaders do more to provide opportunities for #postsecondary education and training. But as you will hear our panelists say, this is not just an #education issue! Increasing opportunities for education and training after high school provides amazing benefits to individuals, their families and communities, and to the economic strength of the state. This issue affects every single one of us.?Find out why in the post ? .
ICYMI: Today's #MorningScoop with Arizona Capitol Times shed light on how Arizonans feel about the importance of education and training after high school, and what actions are needed to help our state reach it's attainment goal, #Achieve60AZ. Thank you to Gary Grado for excellent hosting and our incredible panelists: Rich Nickel, Education Forward Arizona Sybil Francis, Center for the Future of Arizona Monica Villalobos, Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Paul Bentz, HighGround Inc. A few weeks back, I had the pleasure of witnessing and photographing a tradition at Westminster School called "The Lawn Ceremony". Essentially, the 12th graders invite the 11th graders to join them in a special area of campus exclusive to the graduating class. It's an honor to be personally led onto the lawn. It's part of the school's culture. And, often, it's an emotional moment for all. In the first five years of photographing this annual event, I didn't understand the reason for tears. They looked like happy tears, but I wasn't sure. This year, the head of the school, Elaine White, spoke succinctly at one of the closing ceremonies about the importance of community. And then it all made sense. From the first day of school to the last, schools such as Westminster have a broader mission than just education. They want to give their students a taste of what's possible in the "real world" –?that connection, cooperation, collaboration, and community are all achievable. The happy tears, I think, are evidence that despite the trials and tribulations of the past three years, they too can experience that same sense of togetherness as their older peers. It's perhaps also a reminder that they have just one more year to go before graduating from high school. If you are a part of a team, what traditions bring you together with your colleagues, and what is your mission? Drop a comment below. Follow my account and share this post, if you believe people in your organization would get something out of it. #cooperation #connection #collaboration #community

This past Wednesday, Metropolitan College of New York's new president, Charles J. Gibbs, EdD, convened his first gathering of the college's faculty and staff. As the smiles below clearly indicate, my colleagues and I stand ready to eagerly support President Gibbs as the college pursues its important goals in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead.
