Prada and Versace have such distinct identities, I mean minimalist sophistication vs. maximalist glamour. Curious to see how (or if) they’d merge their DNA or keep them entirely separate.
Interesting to see the direction Capri is heading in after the fallen through deal of Tapestry x Capri
They do have different DNAs not only from a fashion design point of view but also in their architectural (store design) language! While it is feasible but I wonder what the incentive was behind this decision?!
Unbelievable ??
I help build brands.
3 小时前To me these brands have always had very specific and distinctive heritages, respectively, when I see ultra high lux brands get together like this it's a survival sign. Indicating a narrowing in the market, and consumers real want for these brands. Do they have to do whatever it takes to justify the high end cost and retail MSRP's??? I dunno ??♂? Don't get me wrong - I love these brands. I own and support them but the heritage is in question in my mind. As a maker and someone who's seeing new, hungry skilled craftsman coming out of FIT, Parsons, RIZDI and other sartorial apprenticeships. The New School is gaining steam in niche markets, in social and hybrid Brick Mortor / Ecomm platforms building new labels and vertically integrating. Maybe It's only a matter of time till the new outsmarts the old ways... These moves keep me thinking outside the box. All that said I hope they continue their long lasting histories and prosper. But I'm gonna still keep a look out for the next Prada, Gucci, LV, etc... Craftspeople are coming for them. ??
