Every child deserves a future filled with golden moments joy, whether that is learning to ride a bike, experiencing their first day at school, or enjoying sleepovers with friends. ?? The harsh reality is that every week in the UK, two families receive the devastating news that their child has neuroblastoma. This rare and often aggressive cancer not only claims young lives but also subjects children to gruelling treatments that can affect them well into adulthood. We believe in #AFutureTheyDeserve. September 1st marks the beginning of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This year alone, nearly 15,000 children will receive a childhood cancer diagnosis. That’s 15,000 families whose lives will be turned upside down overnight. And we know that a childhood cancer journey doesn’t end when the treatment is over. Long term side effects and mental health challenges often follow these families for the rest of their lives. That’s why we believe it’s vital to provide the holistic, wrap-around, support that each member of the family deserves - from the moment of diagnosis, throughout treatment, and beyond. Here at Ukandu, this is a time for us to amplify the voices of those most impacted by childhood cancer and raise awareness for the realities of childhood cancer diagnosis. The VA has now added these three new conditions to the Burn Pit and Other Particulates Presumptive List: ?? Male breast cancer Urethral cancer Cancer of the paraurethral glands The Presumptive List includes conditions that the VA automatically considers service-connected, and thus eligible for disability benefits if the condition develops after the veteran served in certain locations during specific times. If you meet the requirements for the Burn Pit Presumptive List and applied for one of these conditions after August 10, 2022, but your claim was denied, the VA will review your claim and update their decision according to this new change.
