Having executed more than a dozen booths, here are my #tradeshow rules of success:
1) Lead capture is best conducted as a contest between the most competitive group in your organization: Sales. Make it fun and incentivize with giveaways and bragging rights so they are motivated to engage and not be lurkers.
2) A lead isn't a lead until it's married to a kick-ass automation sequence getting prospects to the right location with the right information and the right person to answer their questions. On average, an attendee might scan their badge 30-50 times so how do you make it easy to remember you? Make their lives easier.
3) Train your team on how to scan and assign the leads with your scanning software BEFORE they arrive to the show. Organize in simple terms so they can move quickly and position high-intent scans vs. those seeking more information. Use videos or quick video calls so when they arrive, it's recap vs. a crash course. This saves a ton of time in post-show follow-ups too!
4) The best show booths tell a story that articulates to a customer why you best answer their challenges - dumping all your products into a confined space isn't impressive, it's confusing. Imagine a catalog with zero organization...
5) Booth planners - pay the extra cash and pad your floors. The number of poor team members I see hobbling around the convention center is all the proof you need to take care of your team.
6) The show is just the beginning - exhale, recap and quickly get to work extending your booth's message into other channels so attendees remember your brand and convert!
Let's rock it!
