Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Lesbophobia, Interphobia and Transphobia, an internationally recognised day that draws attention to the violence and discrimination experienced by the LGBTQIA+ community. We are proud to highlight member organisations like Galop and Loving Me who provide help, support and advice around abuse and violence. This year's theme is "No one left behind: equality, freedom and justice for all". "This theme will allow for advocacy and celebrations in many forms - be it from human rights defenders, LGBTQIA+ civil society groups, millions of people in our communities, and our allies. The first E in RESPECT stands for Empowering Voices, emphasizing the importance of providing a platform for survivors and marginalized communities to promote inclusivity and safety. During Pride month, it's crucial that voices from all sectors - government, private, and individuals - join forces with the LGBTQIA+ community to condemn violence and discrimination. This shared collaborative engagement ensures that every community contributes their voices and perspectives towards a future free from free from GBVF . By empowering these voices, we ensure that justice prevails, healing and empowerment is achievable. We recognise the importance of shining a spotlight on these matters during Pride Month, but we urge that our continued efforts far extend beyond the month of October. Together, we can create a society where everyone feels seen, heard, and protected, and where violence against any community is condemned. #PreventGBVF #RESPECT
