Mondays4Science #droplets #microchannels We are excited to share today this insightful paper on: Beads, bubbles and drops in microchannels: stability of centred position and equilibrium velocity from Jean Cappello from Université libre de Bruxelles, Javier Rivero Rodriguez, Youen Vitry, Adrien Dewandre, Benjamin Sobac, Benoit Scheid from Université libre de Bruxelles and Secoya Technologies ??Their experimental findings were validated against a theoretical model, confirming the reliability of their observations and providing valuable insights into the interplay between inertia and capillarity in microfluidic environments. ?? A key outcome of their study was the development of a predictive correlation for object velocity (V), considering parameters like d, λ, and lateral position (ε). This correlation, applicable across a wide range of conditions, aids in predicting micro-object movement in diverse scenarios. This combination ensured a high-frequency generation of drops or bubbles, with the RayDrop's non-embedded co-flow-focusing technology, and a high reproducibility thanks to MFCS-EX flow stability.
