Today is Neurofibromatosis Awareness Day, an opportunity to spread awareness about neurofibromatosis globally. While neurofibromatosis can present major challenges, amplifying the courage, determination, and achievements of individuals living with neurofibromatosis also is incredibly powerful. Neurofibromatosis comes with many difficulties and challenges, but today let us celebrate the strength and perseverance of every NF Warrior. Their triumphs, big and small, are a testament to the power of courage over condition. While raising awareness and funds for research is vital, using positivity as a catalyst for awareness is a profound way to honor the unbreakable spirit of warriors within the NF community worldwide. Today, let's take out time to share stories that encourage embracing life to the fullest. #nfawarenigeria #nfawarenessday #neurofibromatosis

When Tobi Ayé participated in our Virtual Facilitation Training in early 2022, she described to us, what she wanted to do: Hold spaces for individuals and groups to work on trauma and grief. Online. This was a far cry away from the business and organisational contexts we are used to work in, so we followed her path closely and were curious how she would apply what she learned with us in the world of trauma and grief. And we couldn't be more impressed. Of course, her foundation is much wider than our training alone. The list of other courses she attended includes some living legends in the space of trauma and grief work. And, she added her own elements, giving it her very own spin and direction. Witnessing Tobi facilitate grief groups online is fascinating. Many people are still reluctant to virtual workshops and trainings in the first place. Now, imagine an online group, grieving together. Which matter could not be more personal and sensitive? And - spoiler alert - Tobi manages to connect to her participants so well, that you do not even realise the physical distance. So, if you are active or want to get involved in facilitating grief work, there is probably noone better to go to, right now. #facilitation #griefwork #grief #training #virtualtraining

After many years of journeying alongside grief, guiding individuals, groups, and communities through the process, and blending traditional wisdom with science-based techniques, I am humbled to announce the culmination of over a year’s work: Collective Resonance: The Neurobiology of Grieving Together. With the blessings of ancestors, elders, and teachers who have paved the way for me, I am honored to bring this offering to our community. Because we are not meant to go through grief alone. Join me as we explore the intersection of tradition and science in navigating the complexities of grief, and discover the power of collective resonance in our journey. September has been a month filled with important awareness campaigns, and one that has personally resonated with me is Dystonia Awareness. Dystonia is a neurological condition that can cause involuntary movements, such as tremors or shakes, which are sometimes compared to Parkinson’s. I share this to encourage kindness and understanding when you notice someone experiencing these visible movements in their hands, neck, or other parts of their body. Please remember, they are often conscious of being watched, and like all of us, they are simply trying to live their lives. Compassion can go a long way. #dystoniaawarenessmonth #dystonia #cervicaldystonia #dystoniaawareness #bekind #compassion https://lnkd.in/gTaFVFKd

As we work together to increase awareness, let's never forget that although NF is a part of their story, it does not define who they are. ?? Every person with NF possesses a universe of possibilities, aspirations, and the ability to create change. Their stories are ones of tenacity, innovation, and undeniable bravery. This month, let's give their voices more volume. By removing barriers and building a bridge of empathy and support, let's spread knowledge and understanding about NF not just today but every single day. ?? Join us this month to spread awareness and foster a supportive environment for individuals with NF and their families. Share your stories, educate your circles, and let's turn up the volume on compassion and understanding. ? When she found little information and more questions, Nora founded the NORSE Institute to raise awareness and fund research into this sudden and devastating form of epilepsy, which often affects healthy, young people with no prior history of seizures. Throughout history, psychedelics have woven through diverse cultures and traditions, offering profound insights and transformational experiences. While their reckless use has caused harm, the majority of individuals who have engaged with these medicines responsibly, either alone or with trusted friends, have been better off because of it. Yet, as the psychedelic ecosystem expands, I believe it risks becoming overly medicalized and excessively reliant on therapy. Much of its foundation stems from a 40-year advocacy and clinical trial journey, notably championed by organizations like the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). This is not to undermine the work that MAPS has done… not at all. I am a huge admirer of Rick’s mission as it has laid essential groundwork and is one of the most impressive demonstrations of fundraising I have ever come across. What I am saying is that?the resources and direction required to run a successful research program or clinical trial might not be the same as those required to expand psychedelic healing to a lot of people. I think we need to focus on some of the other puzzle pieces... https://lnkd.in/gvZwSPN5
