Partnership for Student Success is proud to share the National Partnership for Student Success’ 2022-2025 Impact Report, documenting the progress made through the NPSS public-private partnership between AmeriCorps, the U.S. Department of Education, and the Everyone Graduates Center, Johns Hopkins University. From July 2022 through mid-January 2025 the NPSS worked to help implement and scale tutoring, mentoring, and other evidence-based services to students in the wake of the pandemic. One of the biggest highlights from this report is the fact that the partnership has exceeded its original goal by mobilizing 323,000 adults to serve in these critical roles! ? Just reviewed LEAP results of GEO’s Baton Rouge schools. Here are highlights. There are 81 EBR schools. While GEO schools are not EBR-approved schools (we are approved by the state board), we do serve EBR students. There are only 20 EBR schools who performed better than our two K-8 schools when it comes to serving Black students, putting our schools in the top 25% of all EBR schools. And that includes EBR’s many selective-enrollment magnet schools. We are open enrollment and yes, we provide transportation. When it comes to improvement from last year to this year, we are #7 and #8 out of 81 schools in EBR. We beat the state and EBR in both performance and improvement when you look at the results for our Black students. If you look at raw scores (all students), there are only 23 schools that performed better and six who improved more than ours. Pretty proud of our team and leadership in Baton Rouge. Union County Public Schools, in collaboration with UNC Charlotte, is expanding its "Next Stop: TeachUCPS" program to fill teaching positions in special education, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and STEM subjects. This initiative, aimed at both UCPS employees and graduates holding a bachelor’s degree, supports aspiring teachers by offering zero-cost tuition and a commitment to teach in UCPS for three to four years. The program, which includes partnerships with Wingate University and South Piedmont Community College, reflects an innovative approach to overcoming teacher shortages.
