A project decades in the making, the $677 million Oak Hill Parkway Project in southwest Austin has reached the 50% completion mark, bringing long-awaited congestion relief to the intersection of U.S. 290 and SH 71. Designed to improve traffic flow, safety, and sustainability, the project is on track for substantial completion in 2026. ?? Key Highlights: ? 6 miles of new roadway and a full reconstruction of the congested U.S. 290/SH 71 interchange, including new flyovers, lowered mainlanes, and improved cross-street bridges. ? Sustainability measures include recycling 75% of excavated rock, reusing materials, and preserving iconic oak trees along the corridor. ?
