Life Advice for The Next Generation "Right now there are wars raging on nearly every continent. It’s almost as if the adults are doing everything they can to break this world before you inherit it. The only solution I see is to grow the compassion and empathy you need to pick up the broken pieces. Look to the kindness that we show the displaced, the refugees. Let that kindness define the new world you can build. Advice number one:?Accept your human imperfections Advice number two:?Find your own path Advice number three:?Travel. And now my final piece of advice: Look up: Put the phone down and look up. Because the world is a beautiful place and you don’t want to let it pass you by. Now it’s not going to be easy. But make sure you go out there and live life with all of its beauty and imperfections. Meet new people. Eat amazing food you’ve never even heard of before. Get your heart broken. Break someone else’s heart. And then do better next time."

Everybody's seen the headlines that the pandemic affected a number of young people. It's almost like a lost year, and now, when you look back at test scores, they continue to tick down. Part of that is the pandemic. Part of that is that the education system isn't designed to teach to individual students. It's a one-size-fits-all solution. To talk about that today is William C. Campbell III, the founder of Dallas Academix Hub.?

Nakia Towns, Ed.D. joined Talk 107.3's Brian Haldane in the studio this morning for a conversation about #highdosagetutoring in Louisiana and a proposed state bill that would make tutoring available to more students during the school day. "High-dosage tutoring is it absolutely moves academic outcomes and you can accelerate learning up to a year of additional learning gains ... there's also evidence that students who are engaged in high-dosage tutoring have better attendance ... they have better confidence, they see themselves as a better learner, they have more belief in themselves and their ability to learn, and they can see their progress.
