Ever wonder how hybrid and electric vehicles are more efficient than traditional engines despite the additional weight? I did, so I created a model to quantify fuel economy by speed of different drivetrains. It turns out that weight isn't nearly as important to efficiency as you might think. How does an electric car work? The way an electric car works is very simple.
