Navigating the journey from discovery to diagnosis can be uncertain and stressful, especially when facing a new growth or mass. Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) has become indispensable, offering swift and precise answers in the intricate puzzle of cancer diagnosis and treatment planning. Whether discovered through personal examination, clinical assessment, or imaging, the need for a rapid and accurate diagnosis is a top priority for healthcare teams. FNA plays a crucial role in cases with diagnostic uncertainty, providing essential tissue or fluid samples. In the era of personalized medicine and targeted therapies, FNA, coupled with genetic and molecular testing, becomes invaluable in formulating effective treatment plans. This minimally invasive biopsy technique is a cornerstone in cancer diagnostics, particularly for breast and thyroid cancer, where early and accurate detection is paramount for successful treatment planning. #FNA #CancerDiagnosis #CancerAwareness #LosAngeles #BeverlyHills #Biopsy #Health #DrCelinaNadelman

The USPSTF recommends biennial screening mammography for women aged 40 to 74 years. (B recommendation) The USPSTF concludes that the current evidence is insufficient to assess the balance of benefits and harms of screening mammography in women 75 years or older. (I statement) The USPSTF concludes that the current evidence is insufficient to assess the balance of benefits and harms of supplemental screening for breast cancer using breast ultrasonography or MRI in women identified to have dense breasts on an otherwise negative screening mammogram. ?? Exciting news! Our recent study sheds light on a groundbreaking discovery that offers hope for individuals battling a rare and devastating form of #eyecancer. Published on April 16, 2024, the study titled "Uveal melanoma immunogenomics predict immunotherapy resistance and susceptibility" brings forth significant insights into the complexities of uveal melanoma. Uveal melanoma, while rare, poses significant challenges due to its propensity to metastasize, particularly to the liver, impacting countless lives worldwide. However, researchers at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, University of Pittsburgh have taken a pivotal step forward in understanding and combating this aggressive disease. By delving deep into the immunogenomics of uveal melanoma, they've uncovered critical factors that determine resistance and susceptibility to immunotherapy. This groundbreaking research not only offers hope for more effective treatments but also underscores the importance of continued scientific exploration in the field of oncology. It's a testament to the dedication and expertise of our researchers at the forefront of medical innovation. As we celebrate this milestone, we commend the tireless efforts of Drs. Shravan and Udai and their team at the Department of Surgery, and extend our gratitude to all those who contributed to this transformative research. Together, we're making strides towards a future where rare cancers like uveal melanoma are no longer insurmountable challenges but conquerable foes. #UvealMelanoma #MedicalResearch #CancerResearch #HopeInScience #ScientificBreakthroughs ?? #ResearchBreakthroughs #InnovationInScience #MedicalAdvancements #ScientificDiscoveries #HealthcareInnovation #CuttingEdgeResearch #MedicalScience #ScientificProgress #HealthcareBreakthroughs #ResearchImpact

Professor Raf Bisschops, Head of Endoscopy at UZ Leuven in Belgium, talks about the importance of early diagnosis in beating gastrointestinal cancer. Our i20c video endoscope series may support healthcare professionals detect small alterations in the lining of the gastrointestinal tract, that can be removed before they progress into more invasive cancer. This is how at PENTAX Medical, we provide solutions to physicians to improve the diagnosis of gastrointestinal cancer. Understanding your breast density level is crucial for assessing your risk of developing breast cancer. More than half of U.S. women have dense breast tissue falling into four categories: ? Predominantly Fatty (0 to 25% fibroglandular tissue) ? Scattered Fibroglandular (25 to 50% fibroglandular tissue) ? Heterogeneously Dense (50 to 75% fibroglandular tissue) ? Extremely Dense (greater than 75% fibroglandular tissue) A Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) breast biopsy may be recommended for those with denser breast tissue. Denser tissue makes early cancer signs harder to detect through mammograms. An FNA Specialist can aid in diagnosing early breast cancer stages through a quick and accurate procedure. Instead of relying solely on mammogram images, FNA collects tissue samples, distinguishing between cancerous and fibroglandular tissue at a cellular level. Early detection is crucial. How FNA Detects Breast Cancer Cells and Saves Lives: 1. Sterilize the area and relax during the appointment. 2. Insert a thin, hollow needle to reach the lump. 3. Extract a small number of cells for testing. 4. Results in a few days for an accurate diagnosis. Minimally invasive, FNA allows a quick return to normal routines. It distinguishes between fatty tissue and a cancerous lump, enabling early-stage detection for better outcomes. Get Early Detection Today! ?? Exciting news ?? Delighted to share the groundbreaking findings included in our latest paper just published in ??????????-???????????????? (Society for Neuro-Oncology) ?? Our team has identified a novel biomarker for radiation-induced brain injury - ??????????!?? ?? ???????????????????????? is a critical treatment modality for most of the cancer patients, but it unfortunately leads to debilitating cognitive effects, particularly in those undergoing brain irradiation. ?? Our research focused on identifying ?????????????????????that can predict and monitor these adverse effects, ultimately aiming to improve patient outcomes. ? We discovered that EDA2R emerges as a novel promising biomarker for radiation-induced brain injury. Even more exciting? It's detectable in liquid biopsies, such us cerebrospinal fluid or plasma, offering a non-invasive and accessible way of monitoring patients' response to treatment.?? Huge gratitude to our dedicated team Thea Seitz, Georgios Alkis Zisiadis, Holli Jeffery and Ahmed Osman for their hard work and perseverance. ?? And of course thanks to Klas Blomgren and the whole group for the support. Let's continue transforming patient care together! ?? Curious to learn more about our innovative discovery?
