Known as “the war to end all wars,” World War I left over 16 million soldiers and civilians dead, reshaping nations and forever altering global politics. Armistice Day serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by soldiers in pursuit of peace, and it highlights the critical need for diplomacy to prevent such tragedies from recurring.?? ??Throughout history, wars have often concluded with a peace agreement, an acknowledgment of losses endured and a commitment to building a better future. But why, we might ask, must so many soldiers die before these agreements are reached? War is often sparked by disputes over territory, power, ideology, or resources, with leaders on opposing sides unwilling or unable to find peaceful resolutions. As a result, young men and women are sent to fight for their countries, sacrificing their lives, health, and futures for ideals they may have had little role in shaping.?? ??The tragic irony of war is that even as both sides suffer profound losses, peace eventually becomes the only viable solution. World leaders, reflecting on the devastation, negotiate treaties, hoping to ensure that such conflicts never repeat. But history reveals that peace agreements often come only after long years of devastation, leaving generations of families grieving their loved ones.?? ??Armistice Day is not just about remembering those who died but also about questioning why such losses occur in the first place. Concerns about the so called "Safe Supply Drug" Program in BC: 1?? Toxicity of unregulated drug market remains unaddressed. 2?? Overdose deaths have not decreased, with 2,224 in BC in 2021. 3?? Public safety is at risk with increased public drug use. 4?? Lack of support services perpetuates addiction cycle. BC NDP/Liberal Premier David Eby's recent plans to recriminalize public drug use shows a shift in government stance. Due to his lack of support in the polls , his about face looks like its purely out of self interest & self preservation. Drastic measures for identifying & addressing root causes of addiction, ensuring public safety, and providing support services is needed. Let’s work together and oust the NDP/Liberal government coalition from BC and tell them NO MORE so called "Safe Supply" paid for by tax payers and recriminalize hard drugs. We need to tell the NDP/LIBERAL's to Stop poisoning our community, secondly stop acting like you didn't create the problem. Jagmeet Singh is POISONING our province and our country by supporting the Liberals. He can put a vote of no confidence at any given time, but instead he chooses to flood British Colombia with Hard Drugs to poison British Colombians.
