*TOA Team Spotlight* We’d like to recognize Artesha Taylor, a TOA telecommunications operator. Patience and understanding are important in telecommunications, and Artesha is a shining example of what it means to be successful in this role. Artesha has exceptional communication skills, but even more importantly, she is kind and has an unwavering ability to ensure each patient’s needs are taken care of. Recently, a post-op patient shared their experience of working with Artesha, after facing an urgent medication issue. The patient had undergone surgery and discovered they were allergic to their prescribed medication. Determined to find a solution, Artesha didn’t stop until she connected the patient with the right provider. She contacted multiple team members—reaching out to the nurse’s line, the hot phone, and TOA leadership—until she was able to get in touch with a PA who called in a new prescription. Throughout the process, Artesha continuously updated the patient, ensuring they felt heard and supported every step of the way. The patient was so grateful for her persistence and kindness that they requested to speak with her supervisor just to share how incredible she was.
