Breaking Bread and Barriers: The Unconventional Networking Power of a Brunch ?? Brunch is one of my favorite meals and has proved to be the untapped gem for networking. Even though we are often going to various networking events, conferences, formal meetings and business lunches, this does not give us much time to really connect with people. Why brunch, you ask? It's the perfect backdrop for genuine connections. Brunch offers a relaxed setting where ideas flow as freely as tea and hot chocolate (for the non-coffee drinkers). It's here, over plates of food, that guards are lowered, and the real, unguarded conversations happen.?As an owner of a small business, face time has proven to be the most valuable for me. I've experienced firsthand how a casual brunch can lead to discussions on business strategies, partnership opportunities, and innovative ideas that might never have come up in the confines of a conference room. It's in these moments of shared stories and experiences that we find common ground, build trust, and forge relationships that extend beyond mere professional acquaintances. Last weekend I had brunch with a colleague at Ascione Bistro in Hyde Park (before football) and left with nuggets that I could not have received at a traditional networking event. So, the next time you find yourself hesitant about accepting that brunch invitation, remember: the value of networking isn't confined to traditional settings. Event planning is my mojo!???? We hosted our Q3 Meeting on Tuesday at Barlean's and we had a picnic together. We can get busy all doing our jobs, attending meetings, and finishing projects, so it's incredibly valuable and impactful to pause and picnic together!
