Hi! Stepping into the world of biotechnology fresh out of university was akin to embarking on a thrilling expedition into the unknown. Every day brought discoveries, challenges, and moments of awe. Recently, I found myself at Lab Indonesia, amidst the buzzing excitement of scientific innovation, representing PT GeneCraft Labs in my new role as a technical sales private and medical. Obtaining high-quality nucleic acids is critical for downstream molecular biology applications such as qPCR, qRT-PCR, and NGS. Today in the lab, I completed plasmid purification. It’s always exciting to see these foundational techniques in action, paving the way for discoveries! ??? Molecular Cloning: A Fundamental Tool in Molecular Biology Molecular cloning is at the heart of modern molecular biology, allowing scientists to explore and manipulate genes with incredible precision. Here's a glimpse into the key steps of this transformative process: 1?? Restriction Digestion – The plasmid backbone is enzymatically cut, creating the perfect scaffold for the desired DNA insert. 2?? Ligation – The DNA insert is seamlessly joined with the plasmid backbone to create a recombinant plasmid. 3?? Bacterial Transformation – The recombinant plasmid is introduced into E. coli cells, which are grown on agar plates to form colonies. 4?? Colony Inoculation – Selected colonies are cultured for further study. 5?? Plasmid Purification – Finally, the recombinant plasmid is extracted and purified, ready for downstream applications.
