The client asked us to capture a failing road, all they needed was a high resolution .tiff file but I thought I would do one better.... and I wanted to play with some open source software. CloudCompare's Compass plugin uses a least-cost path algorithm so it's not fully AI driven which means you still need to mark the start and end of each crack and there's a bit of a workflow to collect the data to keep accuracy but the data analysis and export is brilliant for monitoring deteriorating objects. #drone #3Dmodeling #Pointcloud #CloudCompare #Roads #Construction #Constructiontechnology
