The Story Behind TRS: In 2016, I was in my senior year at the University of San Francisco as a Psychology major. I was one of those students who switched majors every semester because I couldn’t quite land on what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I wanted to create something, but I was never sold on one specific idea. With ADHD and dyslexia, my mind was always racing, jumping from one idea to the next without sticking to just one. During my last years of college, I roomed with John Frank—one of my best friends and now my co-founder at TRS. John’s a lot like me: full of ideas and a desire to create. But he also has this calm, balanced approach, which helped ground my bouncing mind and kept us focused. We always talked about starting a business together, and 8-9 years later, that dream became reality when we reconnected about 8 months ago. Along with John, my father Nick is a key part of TRS. He leads our recruiting team and brings over 30 years of experience in the field. He’s worked with Fortune 500 companies like Nvidia, American Express, and Bank of America, and he ran his own staffing firm for a decade. So, how did TRS come to be? About 8 months ago, I was leading the sales team at a fast-growing MSSP, learning firsthand how startups operate from the ground up. Around the same time, my father was struggling to find a recruiting role due to the tough job market, and he’d always wanted to start his own business again to finish his career strong. That’s when the idea clicked. I thought it would be amazing to combine forces with my father—leveraging his recruiting expertise with my experience in sales and cybersecurity—and start a business together. Right around then, I randomly reconnected with John, who was all in to take this risk with us and bring our long-time dream to life. I know I’m rambling, but here’s the point: our path in life isn’t set in stone. At any moment, we have the power to create our own path and build the life we want. Whether you’re starting a business or searching for a new job, trust your gut, keep pushing forward, and go for it. Fast forward to today, and TRS is growing. I’ve learned more about myself in these past months than I have in my entire life. The ups and downs are real. Some days you want to quit, and other days you feel unstoppable, like you can land the biggest clients in the world. That’s why I’m so grateful for my team—we balance each other out and bring our unique strengths to the table. This post might not scream why TRS is the best staffing company out there, or why companies should choose us. But I’d rather show you my character, my drive, and the hustle that’s behind it all.
