In response to the 3rd paragraph: "Meanwhile, the remote job market in the U.S. presents a different challenge.".. Yes, the pay needs to reflect the job title and duties. Tier-1 help desk position should not require 3 years of experience, a bachelor's degree, and multiple certifications. "Compensation for these roles often falls in the range of $12-17 per hour." I think that is a direct result of the 100% remote nature of the Tier-1 help desk job. When companies can hire from anywhere in the US, they have a much larger pool of candidates. Thus able to get away with offering a lower pay. Since there will be workers in low-cost-of-living areas willing to accept the pay, but workers in average to high-cost-of-living areas simply can't afford to. 100% remote work is a double-edged sword. While it gives employees flexibility, removes commute time all altogether. Workers in those roles used to just compete for jobs against people living in their city/county. But now they are competing against the entire country(Or even other countries where English is the primary language. Since some IT Helpdesk jobs want 2nd and 3rd shift coverage).
The current IT job market is a stark contrast. On one hand, I'm witnessing a growing trend of outsourcing technical support to call centers, often located outside of the United States. While this may reduce costs for companies, it can lead to subpar customer experiences. Clients frequently report receiving incorrect diagnoses or being misled about their computer issues, ultimately requiring them to visit our physical location for proper assistance. Unfortunately, this disconnect between remote support teams and the actual technical expertise needed is a common theme. The qualifications and skills required for these roles often seem misaligned, and I've received numerous complaints about rude behavior from remote support staff. Meanwhile, the remote job market in the U.S. presents a different challenge. I've seen entry-level tier 1 help desk positions demanding bachelor's degrees, along with multiple technical certifications (A+, Net+, Sec+, SIEM, ISO) and at least three years of experience. Yet, the compensation for these roles often falls in the range of $12-17 per hour. To make matters worse, I've heard of IT professionals applying to over 1,000 positions before securing a job offer. This level of competition highlights the challenges of finding suitable employment in the current IT landscape. It's a perplexing situation. While there is a clear demand for IT professionals, the current job market seems to be creating a disconnect between the skills required and the opportunities available.

I reluctantly feel the need to write that #recruiters who ask for my resume and invite me for interviews should please read my resume and ask questions in the interview that are already mentioned in the job description (JD). It's frustrating when you hire me for an IT Support Specialist role but then ask irrelevant questions. It's absurd, really. You waste my time and yours. The IT field is so vast that it can be divided into 2 or 3 fields. The first is ERP Web Development, which is typically work in a software house. Next is the work related to Data Centers, which includes everything from cabling to switching, routing, installation, firewall, gateway, and so on. Then there's the field of Support Helpdesk Specialist, which is slightly different from the other two fields. It's like trying to mix 3 or 4 departments into one salary.
