Royal Jordanian Set to Launch Amman-Washington Dulles Route in Summer 2025 Royal Jordanian is set to add its 5th North American destination, Washington Dulles Airport (IAD), launching three weekly flights from Amman in summer 2025. This route will operate on Boeing 787-8s, enhancing connectivity across the Middle East to key destinations like Cairo, Jeddah, Riyadh, and Beirut. This new route fills the gap left by United Airlines, which suspended its Amman-IAD service. The service will focus on point-to-point and connecting travelers, with 39,000 passengers flying roundtrip between Dulles and Amman in the last year alone. Royal Jordanian’s US routes also include Chicago, Detroit, Montreal, and New York, reinforcing its role in connecting North America to the Middle East. #RoyalJordanian #AviationNews #WashingtonDulles #MiddleEastConnections

EGYPTAIR has increased #Cairo to Heathrow flights this summer to triple daily. Not surprisingly, that is the highest number on record. Taking effect on 31st March, it appears that it will be using remedial BA/bmi slots. Now bookable, its flights are due to arrive in Heathrow at 08:40 (new; A320neo), 13:35 (777-300ER), and 21:05 (A320neo). They will leave at 09:40 (new; A320neo), 15:00 (777-300ER), and 22:10 (A320neo). In the past year, EgyptAir carried more Cairo-Heathrow P2P pax than those who connected. However, transit pax were still significant. Jeddah,?Medina, Lagos, Luxor, Hurghada, Mumbai, Khartoum, Asmara, Johannesburg, and Aswan were the top 10 O&Ds. The new daily outbound flight to Heathrow will be more P2P focused, but some core Saudi markets will connect. The new inbound to Cairo is much better timed than the current options for domestic connections, with a daytime option available. It will also provide more options to core Saudi and Mumbai, the latter with a very competitive 75-minute wait in Cairo. #airlines #aviation #airports #uk #egypt With thanks to Sean Moulton for the heads up.

Saudi Arabia's airports witnessed the passage of over 12.5 million domestic and international travelers during the month of Ramadan until the ninth of Shawwal of the year 1445 AH, as reported by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). This achievement was marked by a noticeable level of efficiency and operational coordination between government and private entities, embodying the spirit of the slogan, "We are honored to be at your service." Compared to the same period in the previous year, there was an 18% increase in both flights and passenger numbers. Through all airports across the Kingdom, more than 86,000 domestic and international flights, including scheduled and non-scheduled services, were conducted by 100 airlines. King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah recorded the highest number of passengers, surpassing 5.38 million travelers, followed by King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with 3.23 million passengers. Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah served around 1.04 million passengers, while the remaining airports in the Kingdom collectively accommodated 2.85 million passengers. Mentioned statistics include both arrivals and departures. The President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, attributed these achievements to the boundless support provided by the wise leadership, recognizing the aviation sector as a vital catalyst for economic growth. He emphasized the sector's significant contribution to sustainable development and its pivotal role in realizing the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and advancing the air transport system. These accomplishments have resulted in remarkable progress in economic and social development, establishing a prominent global presence across various sectors, and aligning with the objectives of the national aviation strategy, he added. The strategy aims to position the aviation sector in a leading position across the Middle East and the world, thereby doubling its capacity by 2030. #SaudiTimes #saudiarabia

Hamad International Airport (DOH) announced that July 2024 has become the busiest month in its operational history, serving a remarkable 4.73 million passengers. This milestone represents a significant 10.2 percent increase compared to July of the previous year, solidifying the airport’s status as a leading global aviation hub. This surge in passenger numbers can be attributed to several key factors: The airport's airline partners have increased their flight frequencies to cater to the heightened demand during the summer travel season. Additionally, Qatar Airways, the national carrier, expanded its network of destinations and introduced seasonal summer operations, further enhancing the airport's connectivity. Total aircraft movement at Hamad International Airport in July increased by 3.9 per cent compared to the previous month. The load factor, which measures how full flights are, stood at 82.8 percent, indicating a high occupancy rate for flights operating at Hamad International Airport. This high load factor reflects the efficient utilisation of capacity. The previous record for the busiest month was set in January 2024, when Hamad International Airport served 4.5 million passengers. The top destinations in July were London, Bangkok, Dubai, Riyadh and Jeddah; whereas the top countries are India, USA, UK, Saudi Arabia and UAE. #qatar #HIA
