Credit allocation planning is a timely problem especially when global nations are looking for strategic ways to incentivize CDR activities?? Pinch analysis method, originally designed for heat integration, has been extended for planning of various resources, ranging from consumables (e.g., hydrogen and water) to fixed assets (e.g., land). The core logic is to minimize need of fresh resources and waste created via maximizing its recovery. Now, it has been recently applied to carbon credits allocation, attempting to determine the optimal carbon market trading scheme. Building the knowledge from there, we have applied P-graph to determine a set of optimal and near-optimal trading schemes. The insights harvested from the results are deemed useful for policy development. ?? Indeed, the sooner that we can accept that what needs to be done can only be achieved together, the better. If I may add, the sooner everyone in the energy ecosystem is willing to make, accept and execute tough decisions to progress, the better our chance to thrive within the planet’s boundaries by 2050.

German electrolysis specialist Sunfire has secured a €200 million syndicated bonding line from a consortium led by Commerzbank AG, with additional commitments from Societe Generale, BNP Paribas, LBBW, and Osts?chsische Sparkasse Dresden. The five-year bonding line will support Sunfire in fulfilling customer advance payments, contract obligations, and warranty commitments. Frank Posnanski, CFO of Sunfire, remarked: “With the bonding line, we can not only realise existing projects, but also drive industrial scaling with our own financial resources. The support demonstrates confidence in young companies and future-oriented technologies. It is a signal that Germany is determined to make its industry sustainable and fit for the future.” Public counter-guarantees from the German Federal Government and the Free State of Saxony cover 80% of the credit amount, with the remaining 20% borne by the participating banks. “We are proud that, together with Sunfire and the consortium partners, we have successfully arranged a medium-term financing that enables Sunfire to realize its project pipeline in a capital-efficient manner and continue its dynamic growth,” said Lars Ehle, responsible for Structured Finance at Commerzbank in the Central/Eastern Region. “This is transformation financing at its best!” Sunfire was supported on the deal by KPMG Debt Advisory and Clifford Chance. #cleanenergy
