#walnutseason This is the Eagle Scan walnut color sorter designed for the hulling line. Using color, we sort dark nuts and green unhusked nuts from good nuts. Each nut color is ejected into separate chutes for efficient recirculation or into the trash. Good nuts pass through to the dryer. This test demonstrates the sorting capability of the machine in a high defect environment.

I enjoy the rain, particularly going out with an umbrella or raincoat and spending time in the park. However, when dealing with #grain, excessive moisture can lead to issues. The channel nut's spring allows you to have very easy and highly precise placement of it anywhere you need along the length of a 41mm wide channel section by holding the nut itself securely in place while you install your accessories or cable/pipe support components. Happy "What the WUFI Wednesday" #WTWUFIWEDNESDAY Let's go back to the brick example. You want to apply a water repellent coating? How would you do that in WUFI? (ignoring all the pros and cons of this hot topic, for now). If you enter a Perm value as shown below to represent the effect of repellent, you will see that note, and I hope you took notice of this note. This Perm value has no effect on liquid rainwater uptake. You would need to make that adjustment separately, such as setting the Adhering Fraction of Rain to "No Absorption". If you have more a brick penetrating material, you would need to create a separate layer of brick on the outside, probably about 1/2-inch thick, and adjust the material properties for the so called liquid transport coefficients, also shown below. Typically, these values go down by 90%, and I couldn't find where I got that information though. Happy #WTWUFIWEDNESDAY

This picture tells the story of an oak leaf, a wasp, and a beetle. The oak is a young #SwampWhiteOak (Quercus bicolor) in the southeastern part of #WashingtonSQuarePark. Many leaves of this oak are now home to young Oak Wart #GallWasps. We used iNaturalist to identify the gall. In general, gall-producing female wasps lay eggs in the leaves, twigs, or other parts of a plant. In this case, in the leaves of ?an oak. This action induces the plant to produce extra tissue at the sites of injection, producing galls. The appearance of galls are diverse, and specific to the wasp. We also used iNaturalist to identify the beetle present on the leaf pictured. The beetle is a Twice-stabbed #LadyBeetle. The body of the beetle is entirely black except for a red spot on either side. The oak, the wasp, and the beetle are native to the U.S.
