In response to the growing demand for smaller lot sizes, our client Sunbury Hills Pty Ltd requested additional lots within the Everley development. We accommodate such requests promptly due to our efficient systems and processes, however limitations arise when dealing with narrow nature strips that contain services, street trees, and vehicle crossovers. In such situations, Taylors offer solutions that maintain our desired outcomes without compromising the aforementioned. Here is an illustrative example: Initially, the pod layout featured four lots. Our client requested an extra lot, as shown in the middle image. However, strict requirements for pram crossings, vehicle crossovers, parking bays, and drainage pits made this impossible. Over the years, #BluePeakConstructions have completed a number of LATM type projects for the Frankston City Council. Each project scope varied, however the works for this particular project included three separate raised intersection treatments and three watts profile speed humps, all constructed in asphalt. To achieve these successfully, our team reconstructed the kerb, installed drainage, a concrete footpath and crossovers, then to finish up, linemarking and signage. The goal, to improve the local infrastructure and make the roads safer. #LeedsCityCouncil to Construct New #Footbridge in #Otley Following Public Safety Concerns and Reported Defects. After detecting defects in July 2023, #LeedsCityCouncil has decided to replace the #OtleyFootbridge. Following public reports, the council conducted an urgent investigation to assess the need for repairs. Specialist contractors examined the underside of the existing footway and discovered additional hidden defects. The findings revealed that the problems were more extensive than initially thought, leading the council to opt for constructing a new footway. To minimize disruption, the council plans to set up a temporary footbridge. This will ensure residents maintain easy access across the river during the construction of the new footbridge. The temporary bridge will be located just east of #OtleyBridge and will provide a connection to #TittybottlePark. #OtleyBridge, a Scheduled Ancient Monument nearly 800 years old, spans the #RiverWharfe with seven stone arches, connecting the two halves of #Otley town via the #B6451. In the 1950s, as vehicular traffic increased, a cantilevered concrete pedestrian walkway was added to enhance safety. Sometimes, you just have to pull your socks up and get on with it ??? ? This was a recent project we finished for a customer. As you can see, the end result was totally worth it, but this one wasn’t smooth sailing!?? ? This project had many complications from start to finish. We had to: ? ?? Replace all the drainage ?? Build 3 rafts over the drainage to protect it for the extension ?? Alter a lot on-site to make the project work (because the existing restraint straps on the house gave us very tight clearance for the roof). ? However, at Pristine Building Solutions, we see every challenge and obstacle as an opportunity to learn and grow. So, as much as this one almost had us pulling our hair out, we’re glad we did it ?? ? Shout out to the team for their innovation and determination in completing this project – you all did an incredible job ?? ? Friday Flashback at Bowers! As the week winds down, we’re taking a moment to reflect on some of the impactful projects we’ve proudly supported over the years. Today’s Case Study Flashback takes us to the Mangawhero Stream Bridge on State Highway 27, a critical infrastructure upgrade designed to replace the aging, unsafe bridge with a stronger and more reliable structure. Construction began in March 2021, east of the existing bridge, which had been deemed too narrow and dangerous due to its poor crash record. The new bridge not only accommodates much heavier vehicles but also addresses safety concerns with an improved alignment of SH27, mitigating dips and curves that previously posed risks. Bowers Brothers Concrete was proud to support this project with durable concrete solutions and Allan Block Retaining Wall Systems, ensuring stability and strength in the surrounding terrain.
