Planning for Flexible Training at Fort Hunter Liggett through an IDP ??????? This plan is more than a roadmap—it’s a bold vision for the next 25 years, blending mission readiness, tenant needs, environmental stewardship, and enhanced quality of life. Through collaborative workshops, we worked closely with stakeholders to uncover opportunities and shape a sustainable, actionable future. Focusing on six unique districts—including the Main Cantonment’s Hacienda Heights, Blackhawk Hills, and Mission Valley, as well as the basecamps of 8J, Ward, and Schoonover—we updated Area Development Plans (ADPs) to bridge big-picture strategy with ground-level action. Highlights include refreshed plans for buildings, streetscapes, and landscapes that prioritize functionality and sustainability. What makes this project truly special is its holistic approach: connecting districts through unified networks of utilities, transportation, and open spaces, while creating a prioritized project list that maximizes impact. Fort Hunter Liggett is now poised to lead by example as a hub of innovation and excellence. Trees that had become dangerous over more than a decade of neglect are now getting attention from arborists. The overhaul has set the city’s tree canopy on pace for a potential top-to-bottom refresh by 2030."
