Have you ever met someone who wants to be wrong? Imagine two children passing by this house. They walk over to look through the windows. One of them looks through the left window, and the other looks through the right window. The first one says "Wow, they have a very large TV!". The second one replies "What? You're lying! They don't have a TV at all. They only have a small dining table.". The first one replies "No. You are lying!". A typical response is to ask which of them is wrong. It is often very hard to accept that neither is wrong—they just had different perspectives. Invest in understanding the different perspectives instead of proving who is right or wrong. (Trusting AI with planning your new house on its own may prove risky)

? I vented about the push for AI-everything on my blog. An excerpt: "AI is a catchall term that describes a thing in service of another thing. It’s neither the product nor the goal. It’s like selling people on the capabilities of plumbing and paper manufacturing when?they just want to make a bathroom stop during a road trip after a poorly-planned Taco Bell menu decision. It overlooks the?goals?(functional restroom, stocked with toilet paper) and?desired outcomes?(gastrointestinal relief, resumption of travel) in favor of the infrastructure." In the future, will the term "AI" be akin to: - Verizon coverage maps - "Java-enabled" - "Web-based" - "Battery-powered" - Engine horsepower - "Air Conditioning inside" - "Intel Inside" - Something different? #Curiosity #AI #OpenToWork #UXResearch
