We believe in creating beverages that aren’t just better for you, they’re on the road to carbon neutral too. Our very own COO, Oscar Mayorquín, shared thoughts with Food Processing magazine about the steps we've taken to improve our sustainability, such as reducing the amount of plastic in our bottles and removing the cardboard trays from our packaging. “As of this year, we’ve been able to eliminate 1.6 million lbs. of plastic, and the impact on our carbon footprint has been tremendous,” said Oscar. Our work is nowhere near done, though. Read the rest of the article to find out more about our ongoing sustainability initiatives: https://lnkd.in/eHfmFwFc #SparklingIce

Skepticism Drives Transparency in Sustainability Claims As consumers become more skeptical of greenwashing, companies are stepping up, offering more transparency on sustainability progress. Certifications like Fair Trade, USDA Organic, and B Corp help verify claims, giving consumers confidence in choosing eco-friendly products. Standing ovation!!!???????????????? I am fully agreed behind this article.. The main issue is also that iperegulamentation and standardization of the existing ( Crystallization ) will not help to progress forward in particular for what concerning the introduction of new or innovative materials and solutions which are much different from “#greenwashing claims abused by marketing to hit the hypocritical consumer consciousness.
WHAT IS AND WHAT ISN'T SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING? In the latest edition of Packaging Suppliers Global I was able to share my view on one of my favourite topics. What sustainable packaging really means. Todays' consumer is overwhelmed with all kinds of sustainability claims, sometimes completely false and pure greenwashing. Not even all packaging people can tell the difference between biobased and biodegradable, so what can we expect from a good willing consumer...... In this article I try to separate the wheat from the chaff and provide my vision of what is and, more importantly, what is not sustainable. Earlier this year, I travelled 2 weeks through Japan and was amazed by the way they separate their waste, at least in the bigger cities. I learned that packaging isn't always the culprit it's often made out to be and I try to explain who benefits most from this scaremongering. Some may find this a little bit provocative, but I'm hoping to start a debate about where to go from here. What's your view? How should we proceed? Should we continue as we do, should we step up or should we take a break and contemplate? Do we have that time or will we face irrevocable consequences? Let's talk! Thank you Amber Guy-Kemp and Nicola Chan-Brown for allowing me the stage! #debate #greenwashing #sustainability #cannotdoitalone #culprit
