Sustaining the Commons - costly sanctioning is where a participant penalises someone in the group for breaking the rule but at a cost to yourself. Rational choice theory does not consider paying a fee for sanctioning someone. Monitoring to find rule-breakers incurs a cost but the cost is expected to be recovered by making everybody follow the rules. Fines have to be much higher than the fees paid to impose sanctions - fee to fine ratio is critical. Some fines can be blind revenge to being sanctioned previously. In the real world, externally recommended fines are not common but communities rely on collective choices for rules to deal with rule-breaking. External authorities with salaries and responsibilities for monitoring and penalising are a part of the rational egoist theory. University experiments have to be taken to the field. Similar behaviour is as found but face-to-face interactions increased but did not maximise the group performance. #sustainability #sustainingthecommons #tragedyofthecommons #climate #climateaction #climatechange #commonpoolresources #decarbonisation https://lnkd.in/dWJKs7QB

#teamOne #teamOneBillion #tierOne #OneTeamOneFamily United Nations United Nations Office at Geneva United Nations General Assembly Office of the President of the General Assembly, United Nations We the People, ..extend our heartfelt condolences to all innocent civilians affected by the recent violence. It is crucial to assert that the current conflict is not a war between Israel and the Palestinian people; rather, it is a confrontation between the Israeli government and militant factions, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps(IRGC). ..these groups arose in response to the perceived failure of governments in their respective regions to provide adequate defense and security for their people. The lack of effective governance and military capacity has created a vacuum that these militant organizations have exploited, further complicating the dynamics of the region. ..the recent attacks by Hamas, as discussed, were not spontaneous but rather a calculated decision. Factors such as the increased Israeli incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza have heightened tensions. ..the recent escalation can also be seen as an attempt by Hamas to assert itself and regain relevance amidst internal Palestinian political struggles and external pressures, particularly from Iran, which supports and encourages such militant actions. ..the actions of these groups do not represent the diverse voices of the Palestinian populace or the broader Islamic community. We must reject the harmful narrative that conflates the violent actions of a few with the aspirations of many for peace and justice. ..we call upon all parties to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate tensions, protect civilian lives, and foster a genuine commitment to lasting peace in the region. It is through understanding, compassion, and cooperation that we can build a secure future for all peoples involved. ..let us unite in shining a light on the path toward reconciliation and healing, ensuring that no one is unfairly scapegoated in this complex struggle. It is essential to recognize that enduring peace in the region can only be achieved through mutual respect, understanding, and the commitment to coexistence. ..we stand in solidarity with those who advocate for justice, peace, and security for all, emphasizing that a peaceful resolution requires the active participation of all stakeholders. ..together, let us strive for a future where every individual, regardless of their faith or nationality, can live without fear and in harmony. ..in the face of misinformation and misunderstanding, we must clarify that the actions of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the (IRGC) do not reflect the beliefs or desires of the Palestinian people or the global Islamic community. Signed, Cameron Clark(One) (UNEF) Commander General(CG) (GIE/UN) Founder - Director (UNDSS-SIU-22) Commander

We search for peace, yet we continue to bear arms and peace cannot be found down the barrel of a gun or with bombs designed to cause mass harm and destruction. What we need, is dialogue for conversation holds the key. With dialogue, we can foster a new way of thinking that is all-inclusive; where tolerance, justice and peace do not just exist but thrive, where life for all is respected, and where communities and the people within the communities will be free to be who they are and where respect for their neighbours is paramount. With dialogue, the divisions at the heart of all that is wrong in society will be replaced with a renewed sense of responsibility and care not just for ourselves but mankind. Empathy will enable us all to be wiser, richer in time, and stronger in spirit so that we empower one another so that we can secure a brighter future that looks to protect the rights of every one of us no matter who we are or where we live.
