Most people working as founders or in design, product or engineering do not want to hear this, but it is becoming more true with every day passing: If you are not building an AI-native product, some product that does build an AI-native solution in your space will outcompete you (very quickly). The internet is being rebuilt from the ground up, with the new rails being AI, and this is what Felix and I are talking about on today's Quick Coffee. We are already seeing non-AI-based products losing marketshare rapidly and massively (Uber vs. Waymo in SF) and I predict this will be the reality in every area of software (and in some areas of hardware). I've been seeing a lot of people asking others where they think GenAI is going. Here's my prediction: The next phase is going to be all about interoperability. There was a mad rush to bake GenAI into existing apps, but everything is still very much living in silos. To get to the next level of usefulness, we need one system to be able to trigger the next. For instance: have GenAI look at logs and analyze them, open PPT and generate a deck of the findings, then go into our PM tools and create action items based on the analysis. As quickly as this space is moving, I don't think it's far off.
