Think of organizational hierarchy like a typical family, there’s the head of the family (usually the dad or mum), then finally the kids. Everyone has their role, and decisions flow from the top down. That’s how ???????????????????????????? ??????????????????. in cloud computing works too! It’s like having a well-structured family, where each person knows their place and their responsibilities. In cloud computing, the organization is divided into different units (departments or teams), with clear lines of authority and responsibilities. The head of the organization (root account) has the highest level of access and control, while others are given access based on their roles. Think of it like running a business. The CEO doesn’t handle every single task. There are managers for operations, finance, and sales, each with different permissions and access to resources. In cloud computing, organizational hierarchy ensures that teams only have access to what they need to perform their tasks, keeping the system secure and organized. It's easy to emphasize the importance of security and suggest that teams need to prioritize it, but doing so becomes an extensive change management exercise. How can we rise to the challenge without slowing the delivery velocity of applications to the cloud? This talk will dive into behavioral and DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) research, with recommendations that include: Why is there so much conflict related to improving security in an organization? How can you measure software delivery and operations performance? A secure development lifecycle is both essential and drives organizational performance. The essential elements necessary to transform a product and cloud security program. Healthier, collaborative cultures have a head start on implementing a mature security program.

For the past 10 years or so, I've occasionally had conversations with institutional investors who want to hear opinions about things like #cloudsecurity, overall #cloud adoption, changes in #cloudarchitecture and more. These have been interesting conversations in general, and have helped me identify some meaningful trends. I collected a few data points back in 2019 that pointed to a shift that I expected to see, basically resulting in a large-scale reduction of #virtualmachine usage, and as a result, a reduction in related tools like #edr, #apm and more.
