?? The U.S. grid is at a crossroads. ?? We need more transmission, but building new high-voltage power lines can take a decade or more. Meanwhile, demand from hyperscale datacenters and electrification is pushing our grid to its limits. See: Reconductoring. By replacing old wires with advanced conductors, utilities can double or even quadruple power capacity using existing transmission corridors. ? Federal & state regulators are taking notice ? Major media outlets are covering the potential ? Innovative technologies like ACCC & AECC are proving their impact globally So why aren’t we moving faster? Is upgrading the grid with proven technology really riskier than doing nothing? Read more here: https://lnkd.in/d2qjKiEA #Energy #GridModernization #Transmission #Utilities #Innovation
Very true ! Demand for power at an all time high and ability to support has holes #innovation #transformers
Much easier to get a reconductor approved by regulators. Same for pole raising-see Ampjack.
#Reconductoring is the way to go, not only for transmission but also for distribution. New generation #coveredconductors for distribution and #HTLS conductors in the transmission grid would provide the necessary upgrade to face the challenges of tomorrow.
