SpaceX has just pulled off the imposible! ? In a jaw-dropping moment, the Super Heavy booster of Starship was successfully CAUGHT mid-air by the massive Mechazilla tower. The world's most powerful rocket has been caught with the "chopstick" method, at the first ever attempt. The successful launch and landing of SpaceX's Super Heavy booster on the 13th of October marks an extraordinary milestone in space exploration. This achievement takes us a significant step closer to creating a fully reusable orbital transport system, paving the way for a more sustainable and affordable approach to reaching orbit and other planets. With reduced costs and reusability, spaceflight is opening up opportunities that were once science fiction. Imagine affordable large-scale production of advanced materials in low Earth orbit, such as low gravity metallurgy, generating continuous solar power from space, which can then be beamed down to Earth, for example using microwaves, and establishing gateways to the Moon and beyond, where we can access rich resources, such as helium available on the Moon, metals extracted from asteroids, and metal deposits from asteroid impact craters on the Moon. However, we must also recognize the challenges that come with this progress: the energy-intensive production of fuels, the risks of space militarization, the growing issue of space debris, and the wasteful and unethical practice of space tourism for billionaires. It's crucial that we address these challenges collaboratively to ensure space exploration benefits all of humanity. 1. Successfully recaptured the booster (to enable faster processing for reusability), 2. All 33 engines seemed nominal on ascent, 3. heat tiles seemed to work well for upper stage on re entry, 4. buoys showed "ocean landing" was very close to calculated, and 5. successful hot staging .... very nice series of accomplishments by the SpaceX team. Hats off to them for maintaining their pace of progress. Cost, schedule and requirements. Schedule is paramount to their success. Agile engineering (DevSecOps) in action.

Today Elon posted the first picture of the first Version 3 of the SpaceX Raptor engine. As you visually compare V3 to V2 and V1 it’s worth revisiting “The Algorithm” to understand how SpaceX’s engineers have challenged the status quo to deliver the engine that will take humanity back to the moon and to Mars, and do it affordably, reliably, repeatedly and safely. 1.
