International Security Expo and International Cyber Expo at Olympia this week were as busy as ever and had some great speakers. Attended my first ever SASIG Events anniversary dinner, met some interesting people and helped to raise money for a very worthwhile cause along the way #childline. Enlightening to get Tony Sales unique insights into fraud showcasing just how vulnerable our personal data is. Building on our work with UK Space Agency, it was good to meet with European Space Agency - ESA to find out how they are engaging with suppliers in the sector. #crisismanagement #cybercrime #DORA #resilience

In the world of Cybercrime, there has been many exploitations by adversaries that has led to the loss of millions of dollars. Thankfully through MITRE Engenuity a non-profit organization we now have a platform where Tactics, Techniques and Procedures of adversaries are listed and best practices to mitigate them are explained. This library is updated regularly and is a resource for many organizations and companies. The fight to a cybercrime free world continues to remain strong and we at Virtually Testing Foundation shall continue to know and learn how to stay one step ahead of our adversaries. #cyberdefense #cyberintelligence

CI-ISAC LAUNCHES SMB / CHARITY / NFP TIERS In response to member feedback and the significant resource challenges faced by Australian SMBs, Charities and Not-for-Profits, CI-ISAC Australia has released a new set of membership tiers to make our capabilities even more accessible to those entities in need. At its core, CI-ISAC Australia is about bringing together owners and operators of Critical Infrastructure to uplift their defences by fostering a safe environment to share intelligence on cyber threats. Even more importantly, we act as a trusted intermediary to curate lessons learned and build capabilities with the help of our larger members to benefit all members across Australia. This new development for the nation's only sovereign cyber threat intelligence (CTI) sharing community aligns with a core Australian social value; helping your mates! I want to congratulate CI-ISAC members & management for this new initiative supporting Australian charities and SMBs that are less able to afford the cybersecurity they need. It shows CI-ISAC living its mission mantras of #strongertogether & #leavenoonebehind! The Australian Department of Home Affairs' new national cyber security strategy released in Nov 2023, explicitly stated the importance of cyber threat intelligence sharing and analysis centres (ISACs) for defending industy and critical infrastructure from cyber-attack. Collective security delivered by a sovereign, industry-led not-for-profit that is free from any commercial conflicts of interest and driven by the mission (not profit) lies at the heart of the ISAC model, as trust is essential for organisations to genuinely share CTI. On February 6, CI-ISAC Australia celebrates its 1st year anniversary of operations. With membership growing across all sectors, it is now possible (with scale) to lower the cost of providing quality CTI to Australian Charities & SMBs. This is important because smaller organisations are least able to afford the quality CTI they need; CTI that is essential for informing cyber risk management decisions. As 2024 kicks off, this initiative is just the first of a number of new CI-ISAC initiatives that industry members are driving this year - SO WATCH THIS SPACE!
