Today on Transgender Day of Remembrance during Transgender Awareness Week,?we reflect not only on lives lost to hate and violence but on the resilience and strength of the transgender community.??? The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019, is an important step, but it reminds us that laws alone cannot guarantee safety, dignity, or equality. We must continue to advocate for policies that truly reflect the lived experiences of transgender individuals and fight for a society that values and respects them. As we remember those we've lost, let’s also commit to uplifting the voices of the living—amplifying their stories, listening to their needs, and ensuring that their rights go beyond legislation to be felt in every aspect of their lives. Together, let’s create a world that is inclusive, safe, and affirming for everyone. ????????? #TransDayOfRemembrance #TransgenderAwarenessWeek #EndTransphobia #InclusionForAll #TransRightsAreHumanRights #TransgenderAwarenessWeek SStraight Circles SStraight Circles Foundation

On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, we respectfully pay tribute to the transgender and gender non-conforming individuals who have heartbreakingly had their lives taken due to anti-trans violence. If you want to learn more about the challenges the trans community faces, including tips on how to contend with anti-trans rhetoric, please check out the Human Rights Campaign here: https://lnkd.in/eTMVNiHS ? It can be as simple as speaking up when someone in your circle makes a disparaging remark or joke. A quick "I'm not sure I understand, can you tell me what you mean by that?" can cue family, friends, and co-workers that you are not someone who embraces anti-trans rhetoric.

Intersectionality is a key concept in any type of inclusion work. We must acknowldge that many folks have lived experiences and are impacted by multiple types of identities and types of inequity. This is a case where the total impact is NOT always the sum of its parts. Being transgender and autistic, or having a disability and being of an immigrant community. These intersections play a large role in the overall impact on the body and spirit of these folks. It is a nuanced concept, and it adds to the complexity of equity work, but our efforts to meet people where they are will be worth the dividends of having a space and team where all folks are seen and acknowledged for their full selves.
Pride began as a riot led by Black transgender disabled women. Our Pride celebrations today should honor their legacy by being accessible and intersectional. For tips on establishing accessibility during pride celebrations, check out the rest of our pride series! #pride #PrideForAll #a11y #Intersectionality #PrideMonth

November 20th marks Transgender Day of Remembrance—a moment to reflect on lives lost to transphobia and to stand in solidarity with the transgender community as they continue to face significant challenges. At SUMEDIAN, we believe that inclusivity is the foundation of progress. Whether in procurement or in society at large, we are committed to creating spaces where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered. Let’s imagine a future where innovation thrives because every individual, regardless of their background, is given the opportunity to contribute their unique perspective. How can we, as businesses and individuals, actively shape a world that champions respect, dignity, and opportunity for all? #TransgenderDayOfRemembrance #InclusivityInAction #SustainableFuture #InnovationThroughDiversity

This Transgender Awareness Week, we’re proud to celebrate the diversity within our team. This week serves as an opportunity for trans people and their allies to bring attention to the trans community, and the issues they continue to face. ? To mark this week, we’re excited to share a video from one of our colleagues, Jay James, talking about their experience being trans/non-binary within the ITP team. This week represents a great opportunity to bring visibility to our transgender colleagues, to and to emphasise that there is space for people of all backgrounds in ITP. ? By showcasing the achievements of trans and non-binary people, we increase their visibility in engineering and transport. This helps pave the way for future generations and fosters a more inclusive environment for everyone. #sustainabletransport #transgenderawarenessweek #transportplanning

Proud of my incredible team at the Office for Social Justice and Diversity at Montclair State University for hosting a beautiful flag-raising ceremony in honor of Transgender Awareness Week (11/13-11/19), leading up to Transgender Day of Remembrance on 11/20. To see so many people come out and stand together, as one, was what we all needed after this very difficult week post election??. During the ceremony, we were privileged to hear from members of the trans community, parents of trans youth, and allies who shared their voices and stories. Their words were powerful reminders of the importance of visibility, solidarity, and advocacy. We are living in a time when many marginalized communities, especially the transgender community, are feeling scared and uncertain about their future. As a community, we must come together to show them that they are seen, valued, and loved. Now, more than ever, it is crucial that we lift up trans voices, support their rights, and stand beside them... Let’s commit to being allies, not only in moments of visibility but in the quiet moments when our support is most needed. Let’s stand up for them, even when they’re not in the room. Together, we can create a world where everyone can live authentically, safely, and without fear. #TransgenderAwarenessWeek #TransDayOfRemembrance #Solidarity #TransRightsAreHumanRights #MSU
