Lakewood New Jersey has always been a unique community, often underestimated by those outside its borders. But what many don’t realize is that it’s precisely this environment that has fueled a remarkable spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation. Today, Lakewood is home to 1.5 million square feet of Class A office space—with the majority already built and the rest under development—a feat that stands out even more given the challenges in building such high-caliber facilities in the current market. The housing market barely had a slowdown even during the GFC. This achievement isn’t just about the buildings; it’s about the vibrant ecosystem these spaces support. Thousands of employees are gaining meaningful employment, contributing to industries like healthcare, real estate, finance, and logistics. Entrepreneurs in Lakewood have successfully grown their businesses through platforms like Amazon showcasing the power of innovation in our community. Every time I see a post like this such as from Bunim Laskin it reinforces my belief in the power of our community of which I’m a 2nd generation and actually was born here. For years, Lakewood was seen as an outlier, but today it’s a beacon of success, showing the world what can be achieved with faith, determination and hard work. To all the entrepreneurs out there: School and curriculum were created for the prototypical student, but true success often lies in breaking the mold. Recognize your strengths, seek out mentorship, and surround yourself with great people—you’ll be amazed at how far you can go. Thank you Bunim for the inspiration.
