Recruiter: No, it’s 100% in office. Candidate: Is there any option for a hybrid schedule? That way, I can spend more time with family and doing the things I’m passionate about. Recruiter: Unfortunately, no. We require our reps to be in office. Candidate: I understand. I'm not sure if this would be the right fit for me then. There’s been a shift since covid. Salary is not the main priority in incentivizing professionals to land roles anymore. Professionals are looking for: - More time with family. - Looking for greater balance. - Enjoying doing what they love. - Want to make the most of their time. Handling the objection that a client can hire an in-house staff ?? “I understand your concern about the cost. I was in a similar position a few years ago and chose to hire in-house. It took a lot of time and an additional investment of [X amount] to train and achieve the desired results. Consider us as your in-house team, but without the hidden costs and long onboarding process. We bring immediate, specialized expertise and can scale to your needs instantly. This way, you save time, effort, and money, getting high-quality results faster. Would you prefer to invest in building an in-house team over time, or start seeing results immediately with us?”
"With your price point, we can literally hire an in-house staff!" A client objected to our offer. Here's how I won them over with two counterarguments. I get it! Hiring an inhouse marketer is safe. - You have one more staff - They can handle 3000 projects at once - They play all roles, from PowerPoint prep to content production But you know what is not safe? 1. A cost for inaction - It'd take roughly 3 months to hire & onboard. This is NOT FREE. If you don't pay for a recruitment agency, you pay with your time. - Plus, in those 3 months, no work is done, no marketing action is taken. Do you want to delay the results for at least 3 months? - With us, onboarding takes 1 week. From week 2, you can see work in motion already. 2. Training and development - In-house staff needs continuous training & development to deliver the results your business needs. - Do you necessarily have the time, patience, and expertise for that? - With our tested and proven approach, we deliver the results with a guarantee without you having a headache. 22nd October 2023, I sat before the CEO of a recruitment agency applying for an email marketing role. She had this big and receptive smile on her face through the interview and by the end of it. Which I thought meant only one thing. She was satisfied with my skillset, personality and responses to every interview question she threw at me. I thought, "oh my God, I crushed it. This would be the best juicy remote job offer I ever got. I will finally be able to foot every bill and needs of my family. While giving my best and striving to get better on the job." That's what I thought. But after one month I got a contract termination mail in my inbox. My dreams, hopes and plans dashed. At this point only one thing mattered. To get better at my craft and do the terminations instead. I've spent hours daily for the past months mastering storytelling in marketing. Infusing emotions in stories just like I did in this story.
