About half (48.6%) of U.S. adults had some form of cardiovascular disease between 2017-2020, according to the American Heart Association.
Yet a little less than half (49%) of adults in the U.S. knows it’s the leading cause of death.
Those are sobering statistics, but they’re not new. Heart disease has been the leading cause of death for 100 years.
The good news is that there are a whole host of preventative care appointments that do not come with copays or coinsurance costs, but they DO provide valuable insights about your health. It’s always best to speak with your insurance carrier about what’s included in your plan.
If you haven’t yet, prioritize your heart health by scheduling an annual check-up with your doctor.
