Frozen seafood sold in supermarkets nowadays are snap frozen in liquid nitrogen and have a shelf life of 1-2 years. Domestic freezers can't freeze fast enough. That's why fresh seafood frozen in domestic freezers smell. By the time they freeze in 2-3h, they have started to rot. As a general rule, buy fresh seafood if you intend to eat them straight away. If to keep in freezer, buy frozen seafood. ?????? #funfacts #seafood #aquaculture

7 个月PS when I dissect diseased fish, they also smell. Because there is a lot of dying tissues in sick animals. Seriously, fresh fish shouldn't smell at all! They should smell like the sea, or none at all! Trust me, I am a fish doctor! ??
