First Time Driving a Golf Cart: Event Planner on Wheels! This week, I drove a golf cart for the first time, and let’s just say it was an adventure! Navigating through hills, avoiding flowerbeds, and figuring out how to park on an incline without knowing how to use the brake… (Yes, I may have improvised by parking it sideways. It worked!) It reminded me of event planning—always adapting to new challenges, thinking on your feet, and making sure everything stays in place (literally). Just like that cart, events can take unexpected turns, but with the right focus and creativity, you make it work! Special thanks to the engineer who trusted me with the cart and believed I could handle the task. Is AV an afterthought? ?? I'm genuinely curious about this as I sometimes wonder if we're called in a 'break in case of emergency' type of situation! ?? - We've realised we can't do it ourselves ?? - I don't think the hotel PA is going to cut it ??? And my personal fav... - Has no one booked anyone yet!? ?? Don't get me wrong, there's work I've done where we've had to bail people out, but I just think that misses a trick when it comes to creating memorable events. I mean...why are you putting the event on in the first place? What do you want people to experience? What do you want them to takeaway? What's your ROI!? Getting your AV co around the planning table from the get go is absolutely the way to do it. It's maybe not how everyone goes about it but I've a little bit of 'main character syndrome' and like being involved ??. At the very least you'll have an event where your whole team (we're part of that) is on the same page ?? #events #eventplanning #eventav #eventprofs
