Per the Infometrics-Foodstuffs New Zealand Grocery Supplier Cost Index (GSCI), there has been an average increase of 3.7 percent in what suppliers charged Foodstuffs last month compared to a year ago. Supplier costs have increased according to the latest data from the Infometrics-Foodstuffs New Zealand Grocery Supplier Cost Index. The report has indicated a 2.4 percent rise in costs. Brad Olsen, Chief Executive of Infometrics and Principal Economist, said the annual increase is the slowest it has been since November 2021, but still higher than the 1.7 percent pa increase the index averaged between 2019-2021. ?? Sales growth in Food & Drink retailers improved to +3.6% in the 4 weeks ending 13th July 2024, against much softer comparatives.? Online was the fastest growing channel with fmcg sales +4% and share has increased to 12.9% from 12.7% a year ago (NIQ Homescan).?Demand online continues to grow with a million additional orders this month +4.5%.
