This is so disappointing, particularly when many live shows and theatres specifically ensure the performance is accessible to all. When developing a website or mobile app for individuals with a visual impairment there are five key areas to consider.?These include: 1. Visual acuity (clarity) 2. Light sensitivity 3. Contrast sensitivity 4. Field of vision 5. Colour vision The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) provides measures that can be tested during the development and updating of a website or mobile app. For example ensuring text and images have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 and for large text (at least 18 point or 14 point bold) has a contrast ratio of at least 3:1.
